Listen up, Eau Claire (and Chippewa Falls crew)—if you haven’t dragged yourself to The Eggbreak Café yet, what are you even doing with your mornings? My wife and I rolled in starving, and we left as changed people. This place doesn’t mess around.
I went full savage mode: corned beef hash that’s crispy-edged perfection, piled high with tender, flavorful beef that actually tastes like it was made with love (not just dumped from a can). Paired with eggs cooked exactly how I wanted (over easy, yolks runny enough to make you question your life choices), thick slices of cherry wood bacon that snap with every bite and leave that sweet-smoky trail on your tongue, golden toast that was buttery without being greasy, and crispy potatoes so perfectly fried they deserve their own fan club. Crunchy outside, fluffy inside—zero soggy disappointments here. Every component was on point, like the kitchen was showing off.

Stopped in yesterday and will definitely be back when in the area. Meals exceeded our expectations! Service was spot on and not too much but enough to stay ahead of our needs. “Think Customer” mindset by all the staff we interacted with while in the establishment. They have an excellent business plan and should be around as long as they stay on their “A” game.

Everything about here was amazing! The food was great! Cocoa was super yummy! Next time I will ask for my hash browns to be crisper. The ham was scrumptious! Great service! Wonderful environment! Recommend to anyone for some good home cooked food with some extra TLC!

Plating, service, pricing all impeccable. I had the waffle, which to me was missing the malt flavor but beautifully presented. My husband had the reg eggs Benedict, also beautifully plated but he said the sauce seemed thin and Canadian bacon wasn’t as flavorful. The individual carafes at tables was a great idea if it doesn’t waste too much coffee, but I loved it!

I’ve eaten there quite a lot over the last year. Today my wife and I went there. We both ordered our favorites. Our waitress was amazing. Her name was Angela and was simply pleasant, friendly and efficient. What prompted this review, was a young busboy accidently dropped a dish from the stack he was taking to the kitchen. Oops, accidents happen. A bunch of jam/syrup splatter on my wife. No big deal, again. We laughed about it clothes can be washed. The manager(owner?) Continued to check on us and apologize. We were fine, he was very concerned, and we assured him, no harm no foul. He took our ticket and made certain we ate free today, but was not necessary. The service and food were excellent a always. And we didn’t feel anyone needed to be penalized for a simple accident. They did accept the tip for our server. I hope the young man who broke the dish only had to suffer the momentary embarrassment and learned lesson of how many dishes he can handle. Cuz he certainly didn’t try to be careless. He was very apologetic and he along with the immediate team cleaned the mess rapidly. Again, no harm no foul on an accident happening. The care and concern after that was above and beyond and their adjustment to it is what separates good from great. Cuz even great places have a “whoops” once in a while.

Amazing restaurant. Went on a Sunday, which I assume is their busiest day. We were told the wait would be 15-20 minutes. I love that they give you a beeper and page you when the table is ready so we could wait in the car. We were seated within 15 minutes as quoted. The food was great, the prices were fair, portions were large, and you won’t find better service anywhere. The food ALL seemed homemade, right down to the preserves offered with toast. Pancakes are lighter and fluffier than I’ve ever had. Even the toast is better (thicker cut bread and it wasn’t doused in butter). My table was serviced by at least 3 people who made sure our glasses were full and our wants were met. As I watched the staff go back and forth, they were always scanning tables and faces to see if they could offer a refill or clear a plate. Kudos to the entire staff! We will be back!
UPDATE: I’ve been back several times since I posted my review. All I can say is this restaurant is as consistent as it is delicious. Best place in 100 miles for breakfast or lunch!

This was our first time trying and it did not disappoint. Was kinda busy but that was expected for a Saturday but we got seated pretty quick. Service was attentive and fast. He got the meat lovers skillet. Loaded with meat and eggs cooked to order. His really loved his side of super fluffy pancakes and the fresh squeezed orange juice. I had the breakfast croissant with bacon and breakfast potatoes. Super flaky and really yummy. Big fan of the thick cut bacon. We will definitely be coming back. Can’t wait to try the lunch menu!
