I have been a fan of this place for a while but they have hired this lady and she has just ruined my experience every single time I get stuck with her as a server she absolutely sucks at her job she won’t refill your drinks she won’t bring your food and just sits in the booth on her phone but today she wasn’t the only problem my wife and I were the only ones in today for lunch our food took forever and we ordered guacamole as an appetizer and our lady server never brought it out and when we asked for it again she brought out something that was just squeezed out of a bag with nothing in it… And the peco on my entree had turned it wasn’t good anymore for sure

Had a nice lunch here. Service was fast and friendly. Enjoyed the chips and salsa. They serve drinks in huge cups which is nice! The sign said lunch buffet but there wasn’t one on the day we went. They did have lunch specials for decent prices. Would eat here again. They have bar stools and a happy hour. Looked like people enjoying their afternoon with a few drinks.

I had the shrimp, rice and beans. My boyfriend had the grilled salmon, steamed vegetables and rice. They were all delicious!!!! I highly recommend Mi Viejo! We’re definitely going back! The service was awesome!

I will never return. The food was good and the staff was nice, but they were not present and dropped the ball on so many things. Most of the time, most of the staff were just talking and/or eating amongst themselves while we were waiting for soooo long for the most basic service.
We got our drinks, and our queso took so long to come out that we were in disbelief. Even they knew they messed up, because they comped the queso which I appreciated. The food was either not what we ordered or not as the menu described. The waiters switched places a couple times and would totally forget or misunderstand what we asked for. It even took sooooo long to pay, that I think they even forgot that I owed them money and were confused when I walked up to present my card and ticket.
I don’t quite know what else to say, but they better get it together quickly.

For starters when this place first opened it was not good at all. I had gotten a ribeye steak and potatoe baked and side salad. The steak was ordered medium well but I got it almost medium rare so much blood. We had ordered this as take out also. So had to cook the steak at home, baked potato was hard so didn’t eat it, and they forgot my salad. I swore I would not eat here again. BUT I came back recently because people said it had gotten better. And I have to say they did the food is awesome now. Me and my family have eaten here allot since then. I recommend any one that had a bad experience when they first opened to give it another shot you won’t be disappointed.

My food was pretty much burnt. They brought my partner’s food out but didn’t even notice I had nothing sitting in front of mine I order d the fajitas and when I reminded them they acted like they were surprised I had even ordered. It came out burnt and cold. It must have sat in the back for 20 mins and it continued to cook on the heated plates. Worse food ever! It was nice they finally acknowledged how bad it was…. sending me home with a fresh one but they need to step up their service. The waiter was just not communicating with us.

The service was great but that did not make up for the lack in flavor. I have never had such bland Mexican food it was like they forgot to season anything. The menu is dumbed down so you know what you are getting it just don’t taste that great I could have done better at home. The portions were a lot smaller than any other Mexican restaurant I have ever been to when they brought the food I laughed and said they must think I’m not hungry. If you want Mexican food in Owenton go to amgios other wise keep driving it will be worth the wait to go somewhere else I will not be back.
