Delicious carnitas at Las Musas in Tuscumbia, AL – Facebook

Las Piñas Food Truck is soooo good. My go-to meal is the Mexican Street Corn and the Chicken Burrito. They are at Just Whatever until 5pm. .

I ate here for the first time tonight and I will definitely be back. The food and service is excellent. The prices are reasonable and the portions are very generous. Please give them a try!

Las Musas Mexican Bar and Grill Tuscumbia was easily one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had, and it felt like everything that could go wrong did go wrong. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt off, like the staff was already overwhelmed or irritated before we even sat down. It took a long time just to be acknowledged, and when we finally got menus, there was no greeting or explanation of anything, just a rushed attitude that made us feel like we were a burden for being there. The chips were stale, the salsa tasted watered down and flavorless, and our drinks took so long that we were already finished with the chips before they arrived. When the food finally came out, it was disappointing across the board—tacos that were cold in the middle, rice that tasted dry and old, and beans that had no seasoning at all. The fajitas barely had any meat and were mostly onions and peppers, which made it feel like they were cutting corners instead of serving a real meal. Nothing tasted fresh, and it honestly felt like the food had been sitting under a warmer too long before being brought out.

What really pushed the experience from bad to worse, though, was what happened when the check came. There was a forced service charge added onto the bill, basically the restaurant tipping themselves, even though the service was slow, unfriendly, and careless the entire time. There was no clear explanation upfront, no sign that we noticed, and no warning from the server, so it felt sneaky and dishonest when we saw it at the end. It’s frustrating to be charged extra for “service” when the service is exactly what failed the whole experience. Tipping is supposed to reflect how well you’re treated, but here, Las Musas just takes it automatically whether the service is good or terrible, which feels unfair and greedy. Instead of earning a tip by providing decent food and respectful service, they just add it to the bill and expect customers to accept it without question.

By the time we left, we weren’t just unhappy with the meal—we felt irritated and taken advantage of. The combination of bland food, slow service, and the forced self-tip made it feel like the restaurant cared more about collecting money than actually making sure customers enjoyed their visit. Nothing about the experience made us want to return, and the whole situation left a bad taste that went beyond the food itself. In my opinion, Las Musas Mexican Bar and Grill Tuscumbia seems poorly managed, overpriced for what you get, and far more focused on charging extra than on giving people a reason to come back.

Very good cheese dip. Chips were yummy and not burnt. I had the chicken enchiladas and they were awesome! There’s peppers in the enchiladas for flavor and they’re good too!
