I also had a spicy tuna Maki that was rolled nice and tight and was easily one of the larger rolls I’ve seen in the area. The spice was extra nice, with plenty of spicy tuna made it a nice fat roll. Then we also tried the house Maki and the keto house Maki, with egg & tuna, Both were, well balanced and very very VERY filling! And for the price point it’s the best value you can get, it’s like the perfect comfort food for a rainy night, and they are so awesomely friendly, you can’t go wrong here. So very worth the visit!
When you walk in, there’s a self-order kiosk where I ordered the spice tuna roll and the Tong Katsu bento box. We also added chicken karaage to the bento box. I still don’t like the self-order kiosk because there’s a default tip of 15%. I don’t understand why I have to pay the tip in advance if I’m suffering through the order and have to haul away what I ate.
The maki was great. I had a very thin layer of rice, and the spice tuna was different because it didn’t have the typical mayonnaise inside. I liked it, and it had plenty of cucumber inside.
The bento donkatsu was fried to perfection. I think it was one of the best donkatsu I’ve ever had.
Overall, I really like this place and would definitely come back if they ask customers to pay tips upfront while using the kiosk to order their dishes. They should at least stop by the table to see how everything is. That’s just my tip for you.
Staff was super friendly and the prices are very fair for the serving portions! Will be back next time my kid has a practice at Marymoor and I’m hungry for sure.
Also noticed the shirts the staff had on shoes Donburi Station and I love Sushi Lake Union so assume this is also part of same ownership group. (I also enjoyed Donburi Station).
The side sauce is also pretty nice and I don’t exactly know what kind of noodles these are possibly flat rice noodles but they are so good. It is served cold.
In the past I have tried the miso soup as well and it was kind of expected – bland and a bit salty.
But if you live close by – this spot is worth visiting. The disappointment for me has been that the place has erratic hours. Sometimes I have visited the place only to find that it was closed. Google didn’t got the timing right. Or their business run so good that they don’t care.
Love their roll options and authentic bento and udon dishes. We visited on a weekday for dinner and loved how quickly the entrees came out. It’s a casual dining experience that definitely satisfied our craving for Japanese food.
Will definitely be back to try more rolls and get the katsu bento box again.
What really amazed me was how delicious the rolls still tasted the next day, straight from the fridge. They don’t overload them with rice—instead, they focus on fresh, flavorful, and healthy ingredients. And the price? Unbeatable.
This place is perfect for busy parents too. When I have a playdate or need to pack lunch for camp, I can just pick up a few rolls the day before and send them with my kids. They’d also be perfect for a family picnic. Highly recommended!
They do ask you to pay and tip right after ordering, which is not preferable as it feels like a threat towards bad service. I don’t support this practice anywhere so that’s the only negative for me.
It’s less rice than your average sushi roll with more emphasis on the filling. Spicy karaage is super tasty.
Did takeout. The restaurant interior was basic, which I would expect and it lets you focus on the great food.
The portion is unmatched, nothing I’ve had before even comes close.
The combination of the rice, the shredded egg, and the sauce is simply perfect.
I haven’t found a better unagi don anywhere.
Highly, highly recommended.
