This is one of the best meals we have had in a long time!!!
Well worth the 3 hour drive from our home!!!
The meat and more meat pizza was outstanding!!!
The Carbonara with house made guanciale was amazing as well..
The deconstructed grill cheese with house made bread was spot on too!!!
Hats off to them I would definitely give them 10 stars and would drive back again for another round!!!

Great and unexpected find in Effingham IL. Sat at the counter and watched all the orders be prepped and cooked. Amazing but subtle flavors sets this restaurant apart. No alcohol on site but learned that you can carry your own in. We will be back again when we pass through.

We had an amazing experience last night! I recommend sitting at the bar so you can see all of your food made right in front of you. Amazing food, welcoming service.. can’t wait to come back!

I just had a WOW experience and needed to tell everybody about it!
I’m a sucker for Italian food that is done well and let me tell you, Lucia’s absolutely tops the list. I randomly decided to drive by to see if they were open for lunch on a Thursday because I had heard such great things and I was in luck!
This comfortable, casual, open-concept restaurant is welcoming and friendly and you can tell that the team here has a massive amount of pride in what they do and how they do it.
Literally EVERYTHING is made from scratch–from the pillowy bread to the rigatoni con sugo that tastes like grandma’s recipe (I kept looking for a little lady in an apron squishing San Marzano tomatoes with her hands!) to the pizza that makes you feel like you’re walking down a street in Naples.
Chef Geno and the crew pay attention to all the small details. Those small details add up to a majorly positive experience.
Come eat here. It feels like a warm hug–just like a good Italian spot should.
GRATZIE!

Chef Geno outdoes himself!! This is my favorite restaurant in Effingham! Authentic Italian with so much flavor! The food is just phenomenal , you can’t go wrong with any dish you pick! Geno & his staff are wonderful, they are so generous and kind, it feels like you’re having Sunday dinner with the whole family! Highly recommend! We make it a point to stop in when we come in from out of town.

Nice Italian spot, food was very good. You order at a counter and they bring the food to your table, its an open kitchen look so sitting at the bar we got a good view of our food being made. Service was good, ill definitely be back.

We had the pleasure of sitting in the chef’s seat during dinner at Lucia’s, and Chef Geno made our evening truly enjoyable! He shared the history of the restaurant, explained the differences in the imported ingredients they use, and gave us insight into the current seasonal dishes, which change every three months. We enjoyed the bread and butter appetizer, two different pastas, and the Grandma George Chocolate Cake. Everything was fantastic! The portion sizes are generous. The cake could easily be shared among two to three people. The service was great and everyone was friendly. This is now one of our favorite restaurants, and we look forward to trying more dishes on the menu!

Lucia’s Italian Restaurant is a delightful gem in a small town, blending that cozy, small-town vibe with the charm of a family-owned spot. The owners personally came over to chat, making us feel right at home. Even though they didn’t have hot chilis on the menu, someone’s mother had brought some in, and they kindly served it up for us. They also went out of their way to accommodate vegan options that weren’t on the menu, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. The combination of great food, warm hospitality, and that unique small-town feel makes Lucia’s a must-visit. Highly recommend it!

Very impressive lunch today. The deconstructed grilled cheese was an excellent start – especially if you have all ages present. Followed by 3 excellent entrees. So very excited to find another location in the area that crafts food with extreme intention.

It is a different set up, you go in and are handed a menu, and you order at the counter and then are seated. I ordered the lasagna and shared the Caesar salad. You pay before you are seated, including tip. This makes it difficult to determine how to tip based on level of service. Salad was fine and plentiful. The lasagna was not good. It had meat and cheese but no sauce. This led to a very greasy dish. Neither myself nor my husband could eat it. Staff ignored us after delivering food. The other pasta was good, and the sauce was yummy, so they have the ability. Unfortunately, I would not go back.
