I had lunch at China Max in Trumbull Mall, and unfortunately, it wasn’t a great experience. The food was quite oily. We somewhat liked the spicy chicken as it had a decent amount of meat, but the noodles and orange chicken were disappointing—especially the orange chicken, which had barely any meat.
A few hours after eating, I started experiencing acidity and burping, which was very uncomfortable.

I’ve been getting China Max in Trumbull Mall since they arrived awhile back. The food is pretty decent. Their coconut shrimp is one of my favorites. Well was! Yesterday I ordered the coconut shrimp along with two other items. I ate a bit of it after ordering and saved the rest for the next day (today). I had two coconut shrimps on my plate today. I ate the first one with no problem. The last one, because the shrimp are little in the breading, I only bit into the breading part. It opened. To which revealed something so disgusting to me and many others. The shrimp inside had NOT been cleaned. There was shrimp still in the shrimp. Sorry for the blurry photo, I was so upset I was shaking a bit! I do NOT recommend getting the coconut shrimp anymore. I doubt they clean the rest

I went to Trumbull Mall with a family member and ordered the 2 meal offer for $11.99 . My sister paid and moved to the side. When I ordered he charged me full price. When we put in a claim for the offer the owner said oh too late next time. Really!!! like the minute a person walks into the mall they’re shoving food in your face wanting for your service and then don’t even honor their offers. No honor of word. Not good. Good bye. And top it off food was oily.

China Max is hands down one of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve been to! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Their orange chicken is crispy and tangy, the beef and broccoli is tender and savory, and the dumplings are simply delicious. Portions are generous, and everything comes out hot and fast. The service is just as impressive-friendly, efficient, and welcoming. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you have a great dining experience. The restaurant is clean and has a cozy atmosphere, making it a great spot for both quick meals and relaxed dinners.
If you’re craving authentic and tasty Chinese food, China Max is the place to go! Highly recommend!

Noodles were oily and flavorless, meat was tough, vegetables were undercooked. Aggressive hawking of samples by staff.
Wasn’t worth it, even with the BOGO 50% off deal + special of the day combo.

The orange chicken had no meat inside, but mostly batter , and the chicken or barbecue chicken was not even cooked tasted bloody and chard I brought orange chicken back and was offered something else. I also brought that back and advise the cook to taste the food in the end. I refuse the refund and got a drink and left. Very disappointing.

Usually this is my family’s go to spot when we go to the mall. The meat in the chicken and beef with broccoli was absolutely disgusting and I’m questioning what it actually was honestly. The orange chicken and rice were fine. Won’t be going back anytime soon.
