We went to Luke for dinner with a group of eight and ended up trying just about everything on the menu. For appetizers, the Brussels sprouts were excellent, and the fried oysters were also very good.
For entrées, we ordered the duck, gumbo, steak frites, shrimp and grits, and the oyster salad. By far, the shrimp and grits were the standout dish of the night.
For dessert, I highly recommend the bread pudding—easily the best of the options. The other desserts were fine, but nothing memorable. Overall, the ambiance is pleasant and the service was good.

Came here for the Oyster Happy Hour. The Oyster variety is excellent and fresh. I also like the big $1.5 each Gulf Oyster. We ended ordering three rounds! So delish! Followed up with beet salad then the escargot/bone marrow combo. My fav was the pate rabbit n chicken liver dish. Mix them up with all condiments and that was as good as foie gras

I’ve been here once while on vacation, so this review is based on one visit. That being said, the service was great, and they were quite personable.
For the food, I got the fried chicken with red beans and rice, and the bone marrow appetizer. The fried chicken was very good and the portion size was large. I wasn’t as big of a fan of the bone marrow, but it wasn’t bad. Just felt like it wasn’t very flavorful.
Based off this one experience, i’d recommend

Visited during Mardi Gras for Sunday Brunch. So extending some grace. Appetizer of smoked salmon flatbread with pickled beets goat cheese, cherry tomatoes and dill. Flavorful but a little skimpy on the smoked salmon. The flatbread was very dry. More like the texture of a cracker than bread. The other appetizer was the BBQ Gulf Oysters – 4 large oysters made with Herbsaint butter, bread crumbs, parmean on a bed of rock salt. Nice smoky BBQ flavor. Roasted beet salad was almost the same thing as the flatbread appetizer without the added benefit of the smoked salmon. Entree was the Blue Crab Omelet made with 3 organic eggs, tomato, mushrooms, mozzarella and accompanied by a side salad and French fries. Very tasty and full of crab meat and cheese. Unfortunately there was a long wait. Even arrived after the order from the nearby table of chicken and waffles that was placed after our order. Had the omelet arrived hot would have given it 5 stars! Coffee and sweet tea were as expected. Convenient location. Nice ambiance. Service was slow. Has a small bar area. Reservations are recommended.

One of my absolute favorite spots in New Orleans for lunch & happy hour! Definitely recommend splitting the red beans & rice with a friend for lunch (it’s big enough for two!) and also stopping by for their oysters on happy hour!!

Had a variety of oysters, the Leidenheimer loaf, the smoked trout dip, blue corn and crab bisque, and the pork schnitzel. All of the food was good, but I felt the value was all over the board. The oysters were fairly priced, as was the trout dip which was a generous portion.
Service was adequate. I expect more attention to detail when dining in this type of restaurant. When we run out of accoutrements before the dish has been finished, we should be offered more. I do not mind team service, however, I think too much was overlooked because of it.
The ambience is loud. Unfortunately, we were seated near the kitchen, and when it’s a full house, it’s challenging to hear each other.

The daily happy hour did not let us down! The oysters were fresh, and we loved the mussels too – they were fresh and flavorful. We almost wanted to take home the leftover broth. Drinks are good too and they were at half price!

We sat at the bar for happy hour and we’re served by Bob. He made recommendations for their menu and options to watch the football game. I had raw oysters, baked oysters and trout spread. The crackers were a bit salty. I loved the Door#3 and the French 75 was lovely also. My husband lived his Gnarly Barley juicy IPA. Happy hour is a great deal.

Made reservations on a Monday night , the place was pretty busy. Had a waiter that named Paul that initially gave me an attitude when I asked to have a drink made a certain way which is the reason for the loss of a star. We had the brussel sprouts, bread , pork belly , and some oysters. Plus dessert. The food was all very good. The bread was just a loaf of very plain bread but the brussel sprouts were amazing and so was the pork belly. My fiance loved the oysters and the desserts, which was basically a s’mores cake. She absolutely loved it. Also the drinks did come out pretty good. I would say this is a place you should visit if your around.

I came here with two friends during my first trip to New Orleans. Our waiter was wonderful — such a kind, polite young man who made us feel welcome right away. I ordered a cup of gumbo, and it was delicious. The flavor was rich and seasoned perfectly, and I was impressed by how much meat was in it.
Unfortunately, that’s where the good part ended. My friends ordered the BBQ oysters, and they were honestly not good at all. When we first sat down, we asked the host if they had chargrilled oysters — you know, the kind that come out sizzling with butter, garlic, and parmesan on top. He said their oysters were amazing, so we decided to try them.
When the plate came out, there were only four oysters, and no one mentioned how many came in an order. That was surprising and a bit disappointing. But the real issue was the taste — the topping had a strange, smoky, burnt barbecue flavor mixed with breadcrumbs that just didn’t work. It was overpowering and completely took away from the taste of the oyster itself.
Overall, the service and gumbo were great, but the oysters were a total miss. Maybe some people like that flavor, but it just wasn’t for us. An honest deuces
