I was really disappointed with my visit to Captain Anderson’s Restaurant. Right when we walked in, the first greeter we encountered was extremely rude and appeared to be sitting at the computer playing a game. Not a great first impression.

I’m sure this place used to be great, but now it feels like they’re coasting on their reputation. The prices are high, but the food quality just didn’t match. Most of the sides were overcooked, and the seafood itself was overdone too which is frustrating at that price point. The “stuffed” seafood dishes were basically all bread with very little actual seafood. And the “gumbo” was more like a celery and okra broth than a rich, flavorful gumbo.

The positives: the ambiance is beautiful, the wait staff once seated were friendly and attentive, and dessert was honestly the best part of the meal.

Overall, the experience didn’t match the cost, and I expected much better from a place with this reputation.

Absolutely phenomenal experience! Emily provided outstanding service—friendly, attentive, and truly went above and beyond to make our evening special. The food was exceptional: perfectly grilled steak, succulent shrimp, and warm rolls that were out of this world. Everything was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented.

The atmosphere is classic and cozy, with a touch of old Florida charm that makes you want to stay all night. Capt. Anderson’s continues to live up to its reputation for excellence—worth every penny. We’ll definitely be back!

The wait was very long but the experience was worth it. Dining room is beautiful with great views of the boats in the marina. Our sever Ashley S was wonderful. Food was good, but not the best seafood I’ve had in the area in the area. Complimentary bread was very delicious- hard coat on the outside and soft on the inside. Calamari was good, not too crispy. Grouper imperial was tasty, as well as the jumbo shrimp. I enjoyed our experience!

My husband and I are here with his family while on vacation this past week. I got the broiled platter with lobster tail. My sister in law got the crab cakes and if I go back again I would get those. The crab cakes were delicious. The food I had was very good too and the service was great. A little pricey but not too bad for what you get.

My family and I have been coming here since I was a child—And it never disappoints. I now have a third generation of my family who enjoys Captain Anderson‘s. I don’t think you’ll find any place better to eat, incredible service and incredible atmosphere. It’s totally worth coming here and we usually drive an hour to come eat here every time we come. My family’s personal favorite are blackened fillets of fish.

Went to Panama City and ate here one night as recommended. You order any drink (alcoholic or non) and you get a glass to take home! Love That!! The food was very good! Ordered several appetizers and they were all tasty! The main entrees were satisfying also. We ordered salmon, scallops, calamari, steamed shrimp and no complaints!! We would go back and try something different! Our server was also on point. My husband always asks if sweet potato pie is on the menu and mostly gets no. Our server had never heard of such ( ). He was from Spain or South America, so no worries!! He was still a great server! Definitely recommend! When in Panana City, FL check out Capt. Anderson’s!!!

Captain Anderson’s is always a staple of PCB and is a must-do for any first timers! Definitely a heaven for any seafood lovers, you will find some of the freshest seafood straight from their boats! I am always a big fan of their shrimp personally, but you can’t go wrong with any choice here!

The atmosphere and reputation lured us in and we were hoping for a great meal with our group of 10. We were disappointed and will not return. The greeter/hostess was not pleasant, think Ursula from little mermaid. The fresh catch Scamp was the only meal from among our group that was considered good. All others from lobster to shrimp to grouper to scallops were over cooked and seemed to have been prepared long before we ordered and just reheated. The sides were definitely ‘aged’. Our server was friendly and attentive and the desserts were good.
