The food was very yummy. I really liked the fish and shrimp. The chicken was very juicy and tasty. Very well cooked. The barbecue chicken and pulled pork ended up not being my cup of tea but I still enjoyed eating it, worth a try for sure. The hush puppies were my family’s standout.
For the price, you get a healthy amount of delicious food and the restaurant itself is great for spending time with family.
The waitstaff are all very kind too.

I had the bbq sandwich which I personally gave a 7/10 it’s good but there’s no bbq sauce anywhere in the place, then I have Mac and cheese while and was enjoyable it gave a weirder after taste I gave it a 6/10 and over all think the meal had was 6.5/10
However my family have different opinions

I asked a local for a BBQ Spot. He told me Parkers. This side entanglement is not a brisket, sausage, or BBQ ribs spot. This is a traditional Southern BBQ spot. Fried. Chicken, chopped pork & fried seafood. Typical sides of mac n cheese, cold slaw, beans, corn sticks & hush puppies
I got there at 9 am to pick up takeout from the side entrance. I’d go back for the fried chicken for sure. It was perfect, and all the food was reasonably priced.

This should be a global destination. The energy Gilbert literally brought to the table was like nothing i’ve ever experienced. He is a shining star in the world and there should be more people like him in the world. The food was on point. I will never forget this experience.

Old school. Feels like a trip back in time, but you will love every minute of it! BBQ chicken is super tender and the sauce is likely why they’ve been open for over 50 years. Very good food and service. Like a Time Machine back in time… highly recommend! Oh and don’t forget to try the slaw! 10/10

This is one of the top rated NC eastern style BBQ restaurants. Not fancy, but simple comfort. Fast service, great food, large portions and reasonable prices. If you know this restaurant no further comments needed. If you like eastern NC style barbecue and never visited you should place Parker’s somewhere near the top of your bucket list.

I went to Parker’s probably a decade ago if not more when passing through. how they have gone down hill since then. The Brunswick stew cold (and honestly Smithfield’s is much better), the corn sticks hard as a rock and cold as well. Fried chicken dry. Mac and cheese was extremely soupy. Also, there are no signs any where except small ones on the cash register (yes, which you only see AFTER you eat), that they only take cash. When I brought this up to the check out lady her rude response was “I just work here.” Another gentlemen walking out the door in front of me commented how the cashier staff were not nice as well. Make sure you have some change somewhere in your car or a debit card for an atm or you will be washing dishes. Now to give credit where it’s due- hushpuppies were excellent. Slaw love it. And the bbq is okay (not the best, but okay). The real reason this place is busy is the prices, which aren’t bad. However see above note that you have to have real cash to pay for it.

I’ve been going to Parker’s in Wilson since I was a little boy that would be around 60 years now. You can’t go to Wilson without visiting Parker‘s barbecue. The place hasn’t really changed since my childhood so that’s great. It’s not a fancy restaurant. It’s a local favorite. You get plenty of food for your money. As you enter The old wooden floors, you are seated at little wooden tables with rustic chairs. We love to order takeout barbecue, slaw and hush puppies or corn sticks are our favorite and it’s the most reasonable priced anywhere very delicious if you like vinegar based barbecue. Go make a trip to Wilson and make sure you stop in y’all!

Our group ate here on our visit to Wilson. The service was top notch. The BBQ dinner was okay. I had the small dinner with BBQ, slaw, hush puppies, and cornbread sticks. The cornbread was overdone. The bbq was mushy. Loved the hush puppies and the slaw.
