Visited 9/15/2025 while passing through. Stopped for fuel and noticed Subway. The person who assisted me created my sandwich exactly as requested. Pleasant and friendly. I enjoyed talking with her about Frazil, which is sold at this location. I would gladly stop here again. Thank you for making this visit a positive part of my adventure!

Some nights in winter this is the only place open in Escalante to get dinner. It’s a regular subway in a gas station. Has seating.

It was too early to eat lunch, and we were going to the slot canyons down south, so we picked up sandwiches here (with the sauces in little containers), kept them in a cooler, and ate them two hours later at the trailhead. They lasted very well, and we’d definitely do it again from here. Also, it’s great that they’re open so early.

For being the only chain restaurant and the 1 of a very small handful of restaurants in one of the most remote town’s in the state this subway does not have sub-par service. Rather they appear to be doing a great job with what they have. We stepped in for a bite on Sunday evening on Memorial Day Weekend. The line was long but the staff was quick and professional. The food was good and fit the guidelines for any Subway.

Great subway for the most part. Ended up visiting 4 times over the course of a trip (don’t judge me) and they got it right almost every time. Once my bread was a bit dry, and another time I didn’t get the proper amount of meat on my sandwich. Great otherwise.

Decent stop, but man they were so slow. They were also out of a lot of what we wanted, but in the end we got our sandwich and when you’re hungry, you’re hungry. A lot of the other reviews are positive, so I probably just had a bad experience and went at a bad time. It didn’t help that the customer in front of me ordered a whole bunch of sandwiches.

Lilly was lovely and it was a real shame that we couldn’t adopt a puppy. This subway is the only breakfast option in escalate before 8 am. Four stars because even though subway has a breakfast menu it’s a little bit difficult to construct something that really feels breakfasty. This is a subway wide situation and not in any way the fault of this location.
