First time ever here and I enjoyed it very much! They have a thing called a Tray.. Pick one main entree, two sides, and a drink for $6.99. Great value with many good options. I chose the double burger with cheese as my entree. Corn dog and nuggets as my side item with a huge tea, it’s sweet tea of course. I enjoyed every bite of all three items. Also got a second tray with a bbq sandwich, cheese nuggets, and chicken wrap with ranch. Loved all three as well. I can’t wait to go back and try other food items. Great food and great value. I have never been to a cook out before, so there are a few things I will cover.
Update: I have gone twice now and added to this review.
The food: I ordered “The Huge” Burger cheddar style. It was decent size but not really huge. The burger patties themselves were good and greasy, but not in a bad way. The onions were good as well. The cheese was less than one might desire. It wasn’t like a slice, and appeared to be more like a cheddar dip like blend.
I got a large fries as well. It wasn’t really “large,” maybe medium at most places. Salted and crispy on the outside, they were pretty good. Needed ketchup, but I didn’t see any sitting around, but didn’t care enough to ask.
Service: Mine took a while, and my dinner partner got theirs and finished it before I got mine, which was less than ideal. That said, mine came out clearly fresh and hot, so I can forgive it. I will edit this if I go back in the future for updates.
Update: much quicker the next time, but worse ingredient balance.
Price: A “Huge” burger with “cheddar”, onion, and bacon, a “large” fry, and a regular drink cost all in about 9 bucks. That is pretty good overall, so not much go say there.
Overall: Ok service at a great price for moderately good food, and while the sizes of things such as “large” fries leave a bit to be desired, I did not leave hungry. Recommendations: Have ketchup out, perhaps warn people if food will take longer just so they aren’t confused (it was worth waiting for hot food however).
(Update: they had plenty out this time, probably due to time last time)
And also the annoying Christian stuff surrounding the chain is odd.
Like, really? Your fast food burger chain doesn’t need everything plastered with bible verses and you don’t need to blast Christian radio. There is a time and a place but this isn’t it.

Let’s call this the “F this place burger experience”.
Female Cashier at the counter tonight while taking orders repeatedly kept saying “i’m going to fu*king quit” and kept walking away from the register. Several children dining in tonight overheard her talking to herself shouting that. We won’t be back. I would rather drive to Columbus and get better service and food than eat here ever again.
Don’t even get me started on the burger.
might need to relabel the cup from Proverbs 1:7 to something more accurate… like…. F this place.

Went to the one in Auburn. How hard is it to get the order correct? People check your food before you leave. It’s so irritating, ugh . Two chili dogs with onions… no Chili again. People check your food before you leave.

A bunch of employees jumping all over each other yet nobody seems to pay attention to what the customer is asking for. and if you get a small Burger expect it to be smaller then an $0.89 McDonald’s hamburger. Just look at the picture. I will not be coming to eat here again. And the taste is like dirty dishes.

Lukewarm Chili cheese fries in a hot dog box with maybe a tablespoon of chili and cheese on it for $3.55. Okay, but the shift supervisor with her poor attitude is what really gave it 1 star.

Great spot for a cheap meal. Its fairly quiet there and the food is good. Workers are nice. They first time I went I asked questions about the milkshakes on which was best. The cashier was very knowledgeable and gave good recommendations. Sonic is WAY overpriced nowadays. Cook Out is my go-to now 😉

This place was halfway good. For starters, we were the only ones in line at 1st, we ordered our food, and we waited a good 15 to 20 minutes before we received it. Mind you, you are talking about a pretty much fast food restaurant, and usually, food is out within 5 to 6 minutes. The bathrooms were dirty and not acceptable, in my opinion, especially being that it’s right before the lunch rush. I have a feeling that the problem is that the employees are young high school kids or college students. I would probably come back and give them one more try. Also, it seems like the portion of food that you receive has gone down dramatically over the past year. I ordered a chicken quesadilla with a side order of onion rings and then hush puppies. I received 3 onion rings and 4 tiny hush puppies, That is unacceptable, especially being that before I received a good 7 or 8 onion rings and even a handful of hush puppies.

I stopped by today 3/28/23 to get what appeared to be an ad on the outside street sign reading 2 chili dogs with homemade chili. I asked the manager if it was the special of the day and he said no and was actually surprised it was on there. He said you can certainly order it but the sides and drink would be extra. I said never mind I’ll just have the $6.99 everyday double cheeseburger special if it comes with the beverage. He said sure but if you want cheese on the burger it’ll be extra and also it only comes with a regular size beverage but if you want to upgrade to a large then it’ll be extra. I said okay the regular size beverage is fine but can you put lettuce, tomato and onions on the burger? He replied oh sure but it’s gonna be extra! What’s next? Are the 2 go bags, napkins and the beverage container also going to be extra? Needless to say I walked out and had lunch at the local Burger King where you can get a burger made your way at no extra charge! Unbelievable to say the least! This was my first and last stop at the Cookout stores!!
