Five & Ten hosted us to celebrate my mother’s milestone birthday and they were absolutely incredible. Their general manager, Janeane, was immediately responsive and able to help us bring our vision to life. Their pastry chef, Megan, made a beautiful cake as well as delicious crepes to top off the dinner. The team even printed happy birthday in Spanish on the menus – a sweet unexpected surprise that made a huge impact on us.

The staff were so friendly and attentive, and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely book our next event with Five & Ten. It was an unforgettable experience!

Overall, wonderful dinner. The server was fantastic and kind. Corn bread was delicious. Highly recommend along with the cheese board. Friend catfish and steak could have used more salt or some seasoning to complement the protein, but overall it was good. The carrot cake and chocolate cake were delicious.

The atmosphere was cozy and energetic. Nice place for an upscale dinner.

Parking: it is extremely limited so plan ahead.

One of the most fantastic experiences I’ve had! First, I’d like to say my wife is vegan and Ford did an amazing job of picking out what options she could have and it all tasted wonderful. She had the falafel, soup and vegetable plate and I had the scallops and DuPont oysters. We ended with some in-house Limoncello and just WOW. Will 100% be coming back 10/10

The service and atmosphere at 5&10 were above average. The staff was very friendly and the chef was able to make substitutions for my party. I ordered the 7oz Beef Filet cooked medium. The steak I received was mostly rare, medium-rare at best. The photo attached is one of the more rare pieces in the filet toward the center, pieces more toward the edge were more cooked as expected but still not to my specification. The other food items at 5&10 were above average, the cornbread and butter were very good. However, make sure to temper your expectations if you’re expecting a steak cooked professionally.

If you’re looking for a dining experience that perfectly encapsulates the charm and warmth of Southern hospitality, look no further than Five & Ten in Athens, GA. Nestled in a beautifully converted home, this restaurant exudes an inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home from the moment you step inside.

Our evening began with a selection of starters that set the tone for what would be an unforgettable meal. The pimento cheese spread was a delightful introduction, creamy and flavorful, paired perfectly with crispy crackers. But the real showstopper was the broiled oysters. As someone who typically steers clear of oysters, I was pleasantly surprised by how these changed my perspective. They were perfectly cooked, rich in flavor, and simply irresistible!

For our main course, we had a large group and decided to sample a variety of dishes. Each one was a testament to the chef’s skill and dedication to quality. The catfish was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, while the halibut was flaky and seasoned to perfection. The pork chop was juicy and flavorful, and the NY strip was nothing short of a carnivore’s dream. I can honestly say that I have nothing but wonderful things to say about each dish we tried.

Despite being completely full, I couldn’t resist the temptation of dessert. The chocolate cake was decadently rich, and the peanut butter pie dessert was a heavenly combination of flavors that left me wanting more. It was the perfect sweet ending to an already incredible meal.

Five & Ten is a must-visit for anyone in Athens, whether you’re an alumni looking to reminisce or parents wanting to treat their kids to an amazing dining experience. With its Southern vibes, exceptional food, and warm atmosphere, I wholeheartedly give this restaurant a 5/5 rating. Thank you Peter and the rest of the staff for a wonderful evening!

Everything about this place is absolutely lovely! Starting with the fact that the restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful inside and out. The staff were super friendly, very helpful and attentive. The food was delicious too! Can’t wait to come back here in the future. Also, there seem to be a lot of people that the staff knew which also indicates it’s a restaurant that people continually come back to because it’s so good and beautiful! Thank you, Gus and team for being accommodating with my food requests!

I thought the food was mediocre at best.

I’m sure the quality of the food is great but I was disappointed by the selection (we had Valentine’s Day brunch).

My schnitzel was average and the Caesar salad was very underwhelming.

Drinks were good and service was good as well. The ambiance is ok but not a fan of the house turned restaurant.

This restaurant and the staff are excellent. Everyone is very welcoming and go above and beyond and the food flavors are well put together and cooked perfectly. It is a go to for my husband and I on date nights.

We selected this place after reading the reviews and were expecting them to be much more welcoming and accommodating.

The service was just ok. Our server started off friendly, but later, she seemed distracted and perhaps even irritated. We did not feel welcomed, and the atmosphere was not comfortable.

In general we like simple menus, but the items they had in the menu were unrefined and underwhelming. And the taste was just average, doesn’t match the prices.

And they took a loooong time to bring our food. We were just sitting there, bored, without having any food at our table majority of time. They gave us a complementary dessert at the end probably because of that.

However interior of the restaurant was interesting.

Parking is too tight and seems to have just one lane for both entrance and exit.

I genuinely wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, we will not be returning.

Always wanted to try this place out and recently did! It’s located along Milledge Avenue so it’s not hard to miss. Parking was a little iffy so be mindful of that. We ate out at the patio and it was so nice; the lighting set a relaxing mood. We decided to try a little bit of everything since it was our first time and everything was so good and worth a try!! The service was also great which was a plus to the evening.
