The staff were so friendly and attentive, and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely book our next event with Five & Ten. It was an unforgettable experience!
The atmosphere was cozy and energetic. Nice place for an upscale dinner.
Parking: it is extremely limited so plan ahead.
Our evening began with a selection of starters that set the tone for what would be an unforgettable meal. The pimento cheese spread was a delightful introduction, creamy and flavorful, paired perfectly with crispy crackers. But the real showstopper was the broiled oysters. As someone who typically steers clear of oysters, I was pleasantly surprised by how these changed my perspective. They were perfectly cooked, rich in flavor, and simply irresistible!
For our main course, we had a large group and decided to sample a variety of dishes. Each one was a testament to the chef’s skill and dedication to quality. The catfish was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, while the halibut was flaky and seasoned to perfection. The pork chop was juicy and flavorful, and the NY strip was nothing short of a carnivore’s dream. I can honestly say that I have nothing but wonderful things to say about each dish we tried.
Despite being completely full, I couldn’t resist the temptation of dessert. The chocolate cake was decadently rich, and the peanut butter pie dessert was a heavenly combination of flavors that left me wanting more. It was the perfect sweet ending to an already incredible meal.
Five & Ten is a must-visit for anyone in Athens, whether you’re an alumni looking to reminisce or parents wanting to treat their kids to an amazing dining experience. With its Southern vibes, exceptional food, and warm atmosphere, I wholeheartedly give this restaurant a 5/5 rating. Thank you Peter and the rest of the staff for a wonderful evening!
I’m sure the quality of the food is great but I was disappointed by the selection (we had Valentine’s Day brunch).
My schnitzel was average and the Caesar salad was very underwhelming.
Drinks were good and service was good as well. The ambiance is ok but not a fan of the house turned restaurant.
The service was just ok. Our server started off friendly, but later, she seemed distracted and perhaps even irritated. We did not feel welcomed, and the atmosphere was not comfortable.
In general we like simple menus, but the items they had in the menu were unrefined and underwhelming. And the taste was just average, doesn’t match the prices.
And they took a loooong time to bring our food. We were just sitting there, bored, without having any food at our table majority of time. They gave us a complementary dessert at the end probably because of that.
However interior of the restaurant was interesting.
Parking is too tight and seems to have just one lane for both entrance and exit.
I genuinely wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, we will not be returning.
