This is a very old and beautiful historic building, and the architecture alone is worth seeing. The tiles and overall atmosphere feel rich in history and are great for photos.
That said, the food is quite underwhelming. The dishes are very average and not worth ordering many items. The soup was overly salty, the drinks tasted diluted, and the restroom was not very clean, which was disappointing given how famous the place is.
Great spot if you’re coming mainly for photos or to admire the historic building. Just don’t set your expectations too high for the food or overall dining experience.

I always try to give 5 stars but this time I couldn’t. The vegetable soup that we ate was delicious. Like no soup Ive tasted. But our peoblem was with the waitress that got our order. She had zero patience. We tried to tell her that my friend has dairy allergies and what does she bring us with our guacamole? Three pieces of cheese. Never in any restaurant they serve guacamole with cheese and this time she brings it even after telling her about her allergies. My friend was too nice and didn’t say anything but after she brought us our bill I let her know that she wasn’t very nice. I understand that they have 100’s of people at the same time at the restaurant but everywhere we went in mexico the service was wonderful, except here.

Excellent venue, food and atmosphere. Staff is attentive, very good quality drinks, food and desserts. Prices are reflective of the location and setting but still will not call it expensive. Extensive menu plus seasonal specials.. one of those places that i will go again. Christmas decorations were nice, made the whole place very inviting.. am sure it’s equally good throughout the year..

We didn’t eat there but just went in to take a look. The whole place is absolutely beautiful, from first floor to staircase to second floor to balcony… Outside of the building was very pretty too. Love it.

If you dont mind cold food and the staff actually admitting that they are gonna microwave your food… go here.
Do not get ne wrong, the atmosphere is beautiful and im sure that the food is usually good but every plate we ordered was cold and when we asked why the food was cold they blamed the window which makes no sense because we had had coffee and tea at the table prior to food and it was still hot.
I ordered filet mignon and I have no clue why the edge was wrapped in bacon or why it looked like a plain carne asada… or why it came with fries. I would have understood potato la but not fries. My Father in law ordered a chile reyeno… cold. Our family friend ordered ribs with mole. The mole was warm and the ribs were cold. We ordered a choriqueso… hard and cold and when I asked the manager to take the choriqueso off my bill he kept asking me if he could put it in the microwave.
I was really looking forward to this restaurant and it was just a big let down. But I mean, try it and let me know if your food was cold too.

Casa de los Azulejos is an absolute must see when visiting Mexico City!!! The moment you step inside, it feels like you’re traveling back in time to the 1920s, the stunning architecture, the tilework, the murals, the mosaics and the historic charm make it one of the most beautiful places in the city, in my opinion. The atmosphere is simply amazing, elegant yet welcoming, and the food is truly delicious. And very affordable…
I especially want to highlight the exceptional service from Esteban, who went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. He was attentive, helpful, and had such a positive attitude, truly a great example of excellent hospitality.
Esteban nos dio un servicio excelente.
The only thing that slightly shadowed the experience was the attitude of the cashier, Donaji. When I approached to pay, she seemed distracted and was playing on her phone, which caused an unnecessary wait. I don’t mean to sound entitled, but acknowledging guests and valuing their time is an important part of good service.
Donaji, en su teléfono mientras esperaba para pagar mi cuenta y ni siquiera saludar ni nada, se me hizo un poco profesional de su parte. It stood out mainly because everyone else, especially Esteban, was so professional and friendly.
Overall, Casa de los Azulejos is a must visit. Fantastic local food, incredible atmosphere, and timeless beauty. I’d absolutely go back and recommend it to anyone visiting CDMX!!!

Beautiful location, historic and majestic atmosphere. Very very long wait list, but the food was delicious and the prices were so reasonable that we xouldnt believe it. A must on your list when you are in Mexico City! Steps from the Latino-américana Tower and the Palacio de Bellas Artes (Fine Art museum).

Beautiful outside and inside. There is a restaurant inside but you can still walk around even if you dont eat there. They had a pianist playing very Beautiful music there. Tempature was comfortable. Very ornate and worth going inside. The food looked very good and decent prices for a sit down place. There are a few other shops inside for high end shopping.

Came for breakfast- was able to get a table rather quickly. The menu linked to the QR code is a little confusing- they have physical menus as well! I got the chilaquiles, which was absolutely delicious. The building itself is stunning, both the interior and exterior.
