You don’t need to be a stranger to Starbucks. Orphan friendly, high energy, always incredible front snack bar of sandwiches or healthy breakfast choices. Weak coffee. Starbucks now uses “Keurig type”coffee machines which have measured coffee. Unfortunately the coffee is very watered down with little flavor. This may be okay for those who like a little coffee with their flavored drinks. I’ve noticed this at several Starbucks including when traveling south to San Diego. We need Peet’s Coffee to step up to the plate & open more stores.

I usually don’t go to this starbucks often but lately, it’s during my commute to work and back so I’ve been giving it a shot. This morning’s incident has made me conflicted and quite frankly ruined my morning.

To start, I’m a former partner of two years so I understand the morning rush, I was former Drive BAR/HOT bar especially during peak but the stress nonetheless wouldn’t make me treat a customer with such dismissive behavior. This morning I placed a mobile order around 7:35am and it claimed to be ready around 7:44am. I’m a current Cardiac Sonographer and I had a total of 18 patients so I just wanted my basic coffee and breakfast sandwich to end the week on a high note. Which most health care workers would love.

I had a Barista, glasses, curly hair, and a bigger built, tell me nonchalantly saying “If your name is not there it’s not ready and we are having a busy morning”. Mind you, I didn’t even say anything yet, I was quite frankly looking for my order because It was already 7:45 or later. She then asked my name and said it was lost in the system. I then ask then how long would it be and she claimed 12 minutes which is outrageous especially when i placed a former mobile order. Drive thru line wasn’t even that hectic neither so why 12 minutes? I then asked for a refund and she made a noticeable pissed off face and then pointed to the register and explained that they will handle it.

The barista that had helped me was so sweet and kind in regards to the situation, but she asked another barista to log into the register and/or approve the recovery card due to the inconvenience and that particular barista was rude and also annoyed of my situation. She had tattoos on her arms with curly ish hair. I get that your store may have been busy but the rudeness, and being dismissive was out of line. I shouldn’t have to wait 12 more minutes when I placed an order 15-20 minutes prior.

Was the situation was resolved? Yes and I do appreciate it, but the behavior of your baristas was unacceptable especially from a former partner who understands the stress. Their behavior really ruined my morning.

Customer service lacks here big time. No sense of urgency and like they even really care you’re there and want to take your order. Also, when new limited items come out, the baristas that are on the clock, when snag multiple of the items for themselves, then continue working. Happened on Nov 6 2025 when they opened at 4:30 in the morning, when they released those bear cups. So don’t waste your time trying to get newly released items from this store, the barista’s will have prevented you from getting a chance to buy them.

We tried to place our order through the app but there was bad reception. Okay no problem, so we went through the drive through. The woman who was taking our order was rude and unprofessional. She told us to use the app next time. The entire time I was talked down to.

Very friendly staff and fast thru the drive thru. We got a pupicinno for our dog. It was a good size and he loved it. Great iced tea and kiwi starfruit refresher.
