I recently visited Nam Song and it was honestly one of the most pleasant dining experiences I’ve had. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for relaxing with good food and coffee.

On my first visit I tried the Cà Ri Curry, Lemongrass Chicken, pandan cake, and their egg coffee. Everything was delicious, but the egg coffee was a real standout — rich, creamy, and beautifully balanced.

On another visit I had the filter coffee and Phở Tofu. The pho was comforting and full of flavor, and again the quality of the food really impressed me.

The only downside is that it’s quite expensive for the portion size, especially the coffee. That said, it feels like a unique experience you don’t easily find elsewhere in Sheffield, which makes it feel worth it as an occasional treat. It’s probably not somewhere I’d visit every other week, but definitely a place I’d return to once in a while.

Overall, almost everything I tried was very good, with the egg coffee and pho being the highlights.

The food was just about acceptable, but it didn’t really taste authentically Vietnamese. I ordered a banh mi and found the marinated meat to be overwhelmingly herby, with a very strong and quite overpowering aroma.

The salted coffee was also far too expensive for what it was at £8. It was basically just a layer of salted cream on top, while the coffee itself was extremely bitter and harsh. In Vietnam, salted coffee is usually served iced, whereas here it was hot, which didn’t work at all.

The service and staff were very good, however the flavour and pricing simply don’t match. The prices are high, but the quality and taste are unfortunately very poor.

Over rated, Over priced, underwhelming.

Where to start, we booked and were really excited for this place, the weather is really cold and the thought of some nice hearty food was amazing. The seating area is cold, we had to cover ourselves with our jackets.
We also got to sit next to someone’s dirty old fingernail.

The waiting time for food was really long for what we ordered. We had finished our drinks for the time it had arrived. When the food arrived, it was so disappointing. Taste, bad. Portion size, bad.

The pricing was just way too expensive, especially seen as it’s not even in the city centre. £8 for a coffee. £52 for 2 small portioned pho is ridiculous.

The interior design of the place is really good. Coffees were good in flavour. The staff were friendly too.

Anyone reading this, if you want pho/asian restaurant, just go to Saigon 68 on London Road. It’s better portions, better pricing, warmer.

But if you want to come here to sit on an uncomfortable floor and buy an overpriced coffee. Go ahead.

A fantastic Vietnamese coffee shop and restaurant. I had the Japanese cherry tea which was absolutely gorgeous and the Pork Bàhn Mì which was so full of flavour.

Very friendly and attentive service from the staff/owners

Really nicely decorated with some really fun features

Great food but… Shockingly expensive. It was £17.50 for a bowl of noodles, or *£21* for a curry (some rice, a sauce and a bit of chicken) which is a bit ridiculous tbh. You could buy a steak for that kind of money and given the casual vibe, it seems like questionable value.
Our curries were great, and we appreciated the choice of condiments too but I don’t think I’d come back purely due to the amount you’re paying for what you’re getting.
The staff were lovely though, and the atmosphere was nice if a bit loud at times

I recently visited Nam Sung in Broomhall with a few friends for lunch and had a really nice experience overall.

I ordered the Pork Crackling with Five Spice to start, followed by a Chicken Pho. Both dishes were really tasty — the pork crackling was full of flavour with a lovely crisp texture, and the pho was comforting, fragrant, and generously portioned. Everything felt freshly prepared and well presented.

It is a little on the expensive side for lunch, but the quality of the food and the relaxed atmosphere made it worthwhile. It’s a great spot to catch up with friends over good food, and I’d definitely go back again.

This is the best place to go if you’re in Sheffield and want to have good food, lovely staff and stunning atmosphere. I love coming here whether that’s just for a drink or a meal. I have never had a single bad thing. The cushion/floor area is unique but makes the environment so relaxed and welcoming. I need this place in every city!

The food is nice, cooked with fresh ingredients however I felt lacks authentic flavours. Very casual service and it was a casual relax setting, though the bill was high for that kind of experience in my opinion

I cannot speak more highly of Nam Song. Like, the food is ridiculously flavourful and tasty, and looks great too.

However, the real reason I wanted to write a review is to shout out their amazing service. My wife was in hospital following the birth of our little girl, and had had a pretty rough time of it. She needed some food that wasn’t hospital food. So I bobbed up the road and went in, asking if they did take away. Despite having a full house and catering for an event (it was buzzing!), they made a gorgeous rice dish for my wife (even swapping out the pork for chicken as an additional request).

The team there were so kind, and I can’t explain how much that meant to both me and my wife in that moment.

Thanks Nam Song, we’ll definitely be back in soon to say a proper thank you ❤️

Wonderful place to go and visit. I tried the egg yolk coffee which was a sweet treat if not a little different! What a blast! Can’t wait to try the food next time. Amazing staff amazing coffee. Tried so many including the guest espresso flat white – traditional Vietnamese condensed drip. All was amazing.
