As someone who owned a restaurant and worked in food industry, plenty of people come into an establishment with entitled attitude. But a restaurant like this that has been opened for a long time and survived the test of time, clients must understand respect has to be mutual. I’ve heard of this place from a friend in Florence and been wanting to go there for a while. Oh boy, it did not disappoint! Service was impeccable, and it was great sharing our experiences in food industry with the staff. Because we had pizza before, we couldn’t order too much but the steak was perfectly cooked. Some people in the review said that steak wasn’t seasoned enough but no, you don’t do that because if it’s too strong from the start, there’s no going back; just trust the staff, they’re pros and if needed you can add seasoning yourselves. Nevertheless, great wine, fresh salad, loved every moment there. Will go back there 100%. Thank you guys for the memorable experience 🙂

Incredibly delicious steak and very affordable vs all other restaurants we looked at in Florence so far. $45 EUR per kg was the price which is 30% cheaper vs at least 25 close by restaurants we researched and honestly it tasted better than the $98 EUR per Kg steak we ate the night before. Half the price and tasted better – that is why I highly recommend going here. They just do the one florentine steak option also which is all you need if you aren’t some meat expert or have a huge budget to spend and it makes it easy. Fast service and you can’t reserve a table, just turn up from 6.30pm for dinner. Simple delicious, very affordable and the staff were amazing. We commended them on the best steak we had eaten and they were so nice they tried to give us a discount! Instead we rounded up the bill to give them a tip, then they gave as shots of limoncello as a thank you. Highly, highly recommend! We will be back!
Tips – go rare for steak, eat as they recommend, they ain’t forcing you to do anything but it was the best steak we’ve eaten and we usually go med rare but when in Florence do as locals do.. Also hot focaccia bread & roasted veg was also amazing.

Food is not so impressive. Fair price. Service is fine. And atmosphere is okay.
Food: 2/5
Pici with meat sauce and mushrooms – meat is good, but the spaghetti is a quite raw (hard) to my taste.
Peposo alla fornacina – this one is fine. Nothing special.
What bad is you order these two “best seller” together and they does not pair well with each other. Both is beef with sour taste (one from tomato, one from wine). And the staff did not provide much helpful recommendation.
Service: 3/5
Generally okay. I found the lgbt staff very cute and charismatic. But the tall brown staff is not very helpful. Others are fine.

Insanely good food! We had to wait a tiny bit for not having booked in advance but the wait was more than worth it! Some of the best food I’ve ever had in Florence across multiple times I’ve been here. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough! Lovely staff and really good prices compared to the many places in the vicinity of Duomo.

The food was excellent. Best dinner we had during our whole trip in Tuscany. Price wise it is a lot more reasonable than other restaurants in proximity. 100% recommended.

Molto benne! I highly recommend this place. Here you’ll be fed with a large amount of delicious Italian food. And at very good prices, even though it’s near to the Palazzo Vecchio. We tried to make a reservation by phone for a Saturday night, but there were no seats. We went to the place around 8:00 PM, waited 10 minutes and were seated. The atmosphere is casual, simple and ordinary. The waiters are very smiling and friendly. The elderly lady, who I assume is the owner, is very attractive and kind. Most importantly – the food is incredibly delicious at a very good price. We ordered lasagna, Caprese salad and Spiced beef. The lasagna was freshly cooked and still simmering on the plate. Extremely delicious. We’ve could not eat one dish and asked them to put it in a take-away box. No problem. When we left there was a big line of people waiting, so be on time to be able to get in.

An excellent, unpretentious place with an emphasis on the quality and presentation of food, and warm service. The prices are also very reasonable compared to many restaurants in the old Florence area.

Cozy spot with very friendly service. The Peposo alla Fornacina was excellent. Delicious roasted potatoes. Stuffed Cannelloni with sausage also good.

This is my favourite restaurant in my Italy trip. I have to write this review so everyone knows to visit this place!
We were lucky to get a dinner reservation as we passed by at noon on the same day. But walk in is still allowed.
The bruschetta is the best authentic one we tasted in Italy. The tomato is generous, fresh, sweet and the bread is clearly brushed with garlic generously too! Please try them.
We then got a florentine steak for 2. The charred flavour is divine. The steak looks red but does not taste raw or bloody. It was perfect. Since the restaurant is a cozy place, the steak stayed warm to taste throughout, making the dinner very consistent. Some other restaurant might serve outdoor steak which to us was not as good experience since a cold steak is not pleasant.
We had sides of spinach and grilled vegetables which are delicious. You can feel love and home in every bite. I am not exaggerating. I really love this restaurant for treating food with so much respect! Plus, the price is justified especially with the steak, staff are nice and care about the way they serve food. Please, come visit them and you will not regret it.
The house wine tasted good too and it was a generous glass! What more can I say! This restaurant makes me fall in love with Florence.
