It all started in 1984 when I stepped foot on this great part of the world, acclimated to the lifestyle overnight, understood what was here available, and saw the missing link: Authentic Parisian style Bistro. The real definition of a Parisian Bistro is a casual place, unpretentious, with great food, casual service, affordable, patronized mostly by the locals, owned and run by a family, and where customers know the employees and vice versa. It has become for most patrons: a home away from home.
Quaint intimate bistro serving light French-inspired cafe fare including salad, quiche & sandwiches.

I mean this is just sad all around.
The Food:
Me and my wife both ordered their French toast, since it was ranked as “the best French toast in OC” in 2023 supposedly. I was pretty disappointed to be honest. The fruit on the toast was a bit overwhelming due to the amount, and didn’t add a whole lot to the flavor. It was very organic tasting however. I didn’t feel overwhelmed with artificial sweeteners, like some restaurants throw onto their French toast which was a positive. The fruit itself, however, was not the most flavorful fruit I’ve had. It left something to be wished for. The texture of the toast was very nice. The toast itself I had no complaints with. And I will also revisit the topic of the fruit again, I don’t know if it was the apples, the almonds or the mango purée, and it sounds dastardly to put it this way, but it is what I felt in the moment, something of those three tasted slightly of the smell you get of an outdoor dog that’s been drenched in water. I know the smell well from the farm that I grew up on. It was a tad un appetizing.
The scrambled eggs were a tad too raw for me. Granted, I did not tell the Cook to scramble them hard. But they ultimately were pretty un enjoyable for myself.
My Irish coffee was very underpowered. I can genuinely say that was one of the worst $11 I’ve spent on a drink as far as value is concerned.
The Service:
The service on the other hand was very nice. We were greeted warmly and attended to promptly. The server and our hostess were both very down to earth enjoyable people to be around and if it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t of left the tip that I did, because they genuinely deserved it.
The atmosphere:
The atmosphere was also pretty nice. And we really enjoyed their seating arrangements, table cloths and their utensils. Everything was very boutique looking.
In the end, as you see on the receipt, I spent upwards of $60 on the meal, and it left me very unimpressed. I applaud the servers, but unfortunately will probably not be back here due to the culinary experience.
(Another side note about the French toast. It came with possibly some of the worst maple syrup I’ve had in my life. It was like the owner just got a 70 gallon drum of aunt Jemima syrup from Big Lots to use for every table. For prices like this, I would expect high-quality organic maple syrup, and that maple syrup made me very frustrated.)
Sit outside if you can
