At our Morganton, NC location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

For a fast food chain this is a Excellent place to get seafood or chicken tenders at this location. It’s never busy at all especially in the evening hours. Staff is always nice here. The Lobster rolls are fantastic from there!! If you ever think about getting them and something different. 6/11/22 ate from here today and the food is still great!

I haven’t eaten at Captain Ds in a while but what I ordered for my family was actually really good. I would have given them 5 stars but however I didn’t recieve all of my order. I ordered the Seafood Feast which come with their standard fish, shrimp, stuffed crab, hushpuppies and 2 sides. (They always recommend slaw and fries. Not sure why but I like ordering my own which I did even if it costs some extra.) I ordered the fries and mac & cheese. The mac & cheese was amazingly delicious! But they did forget to give me my order of fries which is why I didn’t give them 5 stars. They weren’t busy so not sure why it was left out. I’m sure by mistake just disappointed. I didn’t want to drive all the way back across town just to get fries either so I didn’t. I forgot to take pictures of the before product cause we were all hungry. So these are pictures of what was left over after we ate.. lol… The lady that helped with my order was very friendly. Fast service!! I will be back. Thank you…

The food was hot and fresh I think the hours are wrong or the closing early got there at 930pm out of hush puppies so had to get bread then didn’t have crakelen cause they already trashed them. Omg

We a bad experience a while back so I hadn’t been in for a while. There was an elderly man that was very negative that really ruined the atmosphere but he’s not here anymore and the crew is awesome. We’ve always enjoyed the people that work there, with the smile on their face. They to want to help people Feel comfortable and they do. We’re back there back❗️The young people that work here are awesome, and the young man at the cash register was all smiles, and they promised me that they would make our food better and it’s amazing now. They’re back and we’ll be back every week ❗️

As I walked up to the register, I was not greeted at all, the cashier was very unprofessional and when I finally received my food I went to my car to go eat because the smell inside the restaurant was unsurprisingly fishy. When I opened the box, I was greeted by the sight of a 5 – or 6-inch hair strung directly through one of my hush puppies. I went back in and said I wished to speak to the manager. The cashier fetched her as she was in the back doing a task. She did not come out to approach me face to face. Instead, she stood about 10 feet away in her cooking area, not bothering to say sorry. All she could muster up to say is, “So do you want a refund or new food or what?” I said I’d like my money back, and she said give him his money back. There was no apology at all, even after I showed the cashier the hair in my box. The cashier then tried to ask me if i was mad at him for some reason, i said no, i am mad at the cook. He then proceeded to take 4 minutes to count 6 dollars and 30 cents of change. Overall I think this has been THE WORST fast food experience I’ve ever had. I severely recommend that anyone wishing to be treated politely, steer clear of this establishment.

The staff was great. The food sadly was horrible. The shrimp looked/tasted like it had been in the desert for a month. I got the family pack and was told it had enough french fries for 6. Nope only for 2 tops. The Cole slaw was horrid. The fish….a no name Mrs. Paul’s type could have been equal. Yeah. For over $40.00 not good.

When I got to the window and paid for my order. I waited a good while before he come back. Not friendly at all! I asked for extra tartar sauce when i got my food and commented that there was 2 already in there ………. for 3 pieces of fish. Okay, I want extra tartar sauce. So there I am another 3 min. When I got home; I opened the potato and found mold. Went back for the manager to tell me it was bruised. I said okay, even with fuzz all over it? The manager refunded my money. Now I understand why I was the only customer and after driving home and back which will take about 45 min. There still was no one else there.
