Salad bar is really nice. Well rounded and nice prepared salads. Deserts are nice.
I like the way the place looks feels nice. Everybody’s nice. They got good systems. It looks clean… But there is only broccoli and canned green beans.
No mashed potatoes to go with the pot roast. No eggs to go with the bacon and sausage.
It’s like everything‘s incomplete and a mismatch
There’s a salad bar and I guess you need to get the lettuce from the salad bar for your tacos because the taco station doesn’t have shredded lettuce no cheese, no sour cream , no salsa no pico de , no tomatoes is just meat and a taco shell and I found some diced onions to put on that hopefully they’re not pickled or anything. It’s a good start, but there’s a lot of things that are missing for basic stations to make them complete.
The Lufkin location blows doors on this one by the way. We will not be coming back here.
My only complaint is that I watched our server bus a couple tables then go straight to the soda machine to refill our cups, without changing gloves or washing her hands. That grossed me out.
We went for breakfast. The omelette lady was the highlight of the meal. She was good and fast. So, obviously those were hot. But nothing else was. It’s sad because some of the food items would benefit 100% just on the temperature.
Three stars for atmosphere because it always looks the same; nothing special.
The food is always fresh, due to a high volume of customers visiting the establishment. When I go out for a meal I really want fresh homemade meals otherwise I can cook it myself.
The new franchise owners Lori and Ralph have really turned this place around. The staff are all very pleasant and take care of your every need before you can even ask for it. Since Lori and Ralph have taken over this place we’ve never been disappointed with any meals. Whether is midday or just before closing the consistency remains at a high level. If you haven’t been in a while or never been to this Golden Coral you must give it a try, I seriously doubt you’ll be disappointed. Go ahead, try out the endless protein choices, the vegetables the salads which you can create however you desire. The desserts or off the wall and always replenished on a regular basis throughout the day and evening. Thank you Lori and Ralph for giving me a night off every week from cooking. Thank you for really doing an awesome job with your restaurant as we look forward to years of dining in one of our favorite places to eat.

Franchise owner is still keeping it real. Thanks for keeping it clean, hot food, attentive staff, clean bathrooms. It all counts and you have it all covered. ka
