They apparently messed up our order. After 30 minutes, they told us to give them 5 more minutes. After the 5 minutes they said it would be another 5 minutes. We ended up waiting for over 40 minutes for our food. Once we got our food, one pizza was steaming hot. The other clearly had been sitting for a while and wasn’t hot. We probably won’t bother eating here again.

Normally we enjoy the food at Sam’s in Augusta, Maine. On January 7, 2026 at 4:57 PM I placed a to go order for one veggie italian loaded and one salami italian loaded.
When I brought the sandwiches home to eat we noticed that they looked different. Each sandwich was loaded with onions. Barely any veggies on mine or my husbands. My husband also said that he didn’t have much salami either. We were pulling loads of onions from our sandwiches and we noticed that there wasn’t much of the other ingredients. We were so tired and hungry that we ate it. It was like we were eating onions and bread.
Another experience I had at this location is that I was given someone else’s order. We don’t live near Sam’s so it wasn’t worth the trip to bring them back. However, I did call the restaurant and they gave me a credit on my account to use.
I’m not sure if this is a training issue or Sam’s is having difficulty finding good help who actually care about working in the service industry. Because of these negative experiences with take out, we’re very leery of ordering here again.

It’s a cool venue, well decorated and clean. I ordered a pepperoni and sausage personal pizza. It was OK. The sauce needed some kind of seasoning. Anything at all, really. The rest of the toppings were good, but the cheese was really greasy.
My girlfriend ordered the dagwood and said it was bland. They have extra sauces and red pepper flakes behind the counter. You have to ask for them.
It was reasonably fast and inexpensive, but it wouldn’t take much to make this food really good.

I don’t normally give five stars across the board and normally service probably isn’t always consistent but for this particular experience I literally had nothing to complain about.
Food was great. I got a bucket of spaghetti with meatballs and sauce with a bag of bread and a two liter of pepsi. The spaghetti is thin spaghetti which is what I like, the sauce is amazing, the bread is pretty good and the order came with a two liter of soda. The price was $28.00 for all that included. It was on special.
Service was good. Friendly staff on. Monica the boss on duty was a genuinely nice person, told her what I wanted and she pointed out the deal on spaghetti which saved me money. Went out of her way to be kind, very good service.
Atmosphere was fine. We went for lunch so it wasn’t super busy, we sat in the dining room which was empty, probably a slow hour but that’s okay because it was relaxing and peaceful and enjoyed our food. The dining room was very clean and stocked. The bathroom was exceptionally clean too. No complaints. Parking is usually easy to get into. Plenty of parking spots.
It’s not as expensive as other places.

I understand it’s a corporate chain however you could seriously make a better effort on the meatballs and the sausage they taste like cardboard. I can buy frozen ones from Sam’s Club better than that not to be rude, but I was offended as a customer and how poor it was on the other hand the pizza is not bad.

Stopped in this evening to order baked ziti with meat sauce.the manager working or shift leader, lacked management skills, leadership skills rather than speak to his employees and coach them along and help them he gets frustrated when he finds out there’s a mistake. He got frustrated because he made a pizza that had already been made and been sent out by the girl that was working he grabbed the pizza, walked over to the trash and threw it into the trash aggressively . The other gentleman working over by the microwave was touching his face with gloves on and then continuing to make food, the baked ziti and meat sauce that I received I’m not quite sure if there’s any baked ziti in there. I’m also not sure if I’m supposed to eat it with a fork or drink it. This location seems to need some serious training. I sent an email to the them in their response and they never reached out. I suppose I should have expected as much from this location.

Sandwiches are fantastic. We got the steak hoagie and chicken, cranberry, almond wrap. If you can call ahead you won’t have to wait so long but they were short-handed with only two people working. Very friendly service, prices are excellent. We will definitely be back again.
