I’m upset that I didn’t get a picture of the food , just means I’ll have to come back . Anyways … it’s definitely a family oriented restaurant. The hostess Ms.Doris very very NICE!!! I loved her spirit . She came sat with us told us some stories . Now let’s get to the food . I had turkey wings with gravy , potato salad, black eye peas and corn bread . My date had fried catfish , black eye peas and collard greens with cornbread . The portion sizes are HUGE !!! The food took some time to come out which was ok with us bc that gave us time to converse with Ms. Doris . The restaurant is a history lesson in its self.

The food is soooo good. I swear somebody’s southern grandmomma is hiding in the kitchen. Mac n cheese is to die for, the greens are tasty and seasoned perfect. The cornbread is sweet and yummy!!!!!! 4 southern ladies on our little road trip, ready to take a nap after the amount of food we were served. Lordddddd lay your hands on this place and let it flourish.

We found this excellent family owned restaurant after traveling through New Jersey on our way home. If you are looking for a relaxed environment and excellent, home cooked healthy dishes and favorites prepared and served like your family would stop here. The owners treated us like family and fed us like we were too! Portion sizes were more than adequate and take- home boxes were required!
Do yourself a favor and stop in for authentic, full ribs and BBQ.

The food I got was absolutely amazing, everyone was very nice, and the overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The brisket sandwich was melt in your mouth, and the fries were seasoned really well. The wait was kinda long, but definitely worth the wait. I will definitely be back.

I’ve been coming here for a few years now and I have never been disappointed! Weekday or weekends there’s always something delicious to be tried. The staff is very friendly and professional…the food…OMG…the food is EXCELLENT!! I try to order something different each time but the fried chicken and the beef ribs are my favorite!! They offer live music on some nights…very classy. The restaurant is very clean and tastefully decorated too…plenty of seating. You have to give them a try..you will not be disappointed!!

Edit: I just read the restaurant’s response to my review. Their response stated that the chicken in the posted pictures were not from their store and they requested to see a receipt. Why in the world would I lie about something like this? They seemed like such nice people. I’m so shocked at their response! Well…At their request, I have provided a snapshot (in the picture section) from my bank statement of my purchase that clearly shows the restaurant’s name and the price that I paid for the food.

I have eaten at this restaurant 4 times over the last five years. Each time, I’ve been highly disappointed. I really wanted to love this restaurant because the customer service is great, which is why I kept going back giving them chance after chance. During my last visit, I purchased two platters and ended up throwing the food away when I got home. It was SOOOO disgusting! All of it! The worst part of the meal was the fried chicken wings. They were burnt on the outside and pink on the inside. YUCK! I called the restaurant and complained to the owner (very nice man). He listened to my concerns and told me that HE would cook a fresh batch of wings for me. Well…The second batch of wings was WORST than the first. I should have opened the container and looked at my food before walking out of the restaurant, instead of waiting until I got home. MONEY WASTED! I attached pictures of the second batch of wings.

Oh my GOSH! Just moved to Somerdale area a few months ago & I wish I had tried this place sooner!!!! Needed a quick meal for the family tonight and I was lured in by a sweet spicy smokey smell of amazing summertime BBQ. Everyone was super super warm and friendly, and there was plenty of seating available (even though we did takeout it was good to remember for next time) food came out fast & hot, and the entire car ride home I was drooling can’t waiting to dig in. The fried shrimp & chicken was crispy and packed with flavor (no sauces even needed) – the bbq had the perfect char-sauce ratio (you could taste the love in the sauce) but I’d have to say my favorite would be the potatoes and jerk chicken!!! The layers of flavor in both had me wishing I had a second order…..11/10 definitely coming back & telling all my friends about my new spot!

my husband and i went there for our anniversary. the food was delicious. the customer service as great, even with the chefs cooking when food is ordered.
however, we went there on valentine’s day for a second time, and it just wasn’t as good. he didn’t enjoy his salmon the second time. and the macaroni tuna salad was so salty.

I don’t know how this place isn’t packed on a Friday night because they most definitely should be the food was amazing fresh home cooked style and the seafood pasta was Devine lump crab meat and large shrimp definitely going back
