Reviews
For our entrées, we had the duck confit and wagyu steak frites. The duck confit had beautifully crispy skin while staying juicy and tender inside. The wagyu steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare, tender and flavorful. Overall, a solid dining experience and a nice spot for celebrating something special.
Overall :
Food : 10/10
Portion : 9/10
Service : 10/10
Atmosphere : 9/10
The Menu is french bistro with some japanese inspired options. It’s comprehensive but covers all bases from comfort dishes, umami, sweet, salty, etc. The pricing is extremely fair and the dining atmosphere is comforting all around.
We had the:
Onion soup
Artic Char
Wagyu Steak
Short Ribs
Pavlova
Few speciality Cocktails
Everything hit the mark for what we were craving. Highlights were the steak pepper sauce, I am going to personally request for a cup of it next time to drink it all. They had set sides for valentine’s weekend; the standout for me were the mashed potatoes. It’s been a week and I still dream about those potatoes. So rich but light and soft while maintaining structure, the character and flavor of the potatoes gave me a wistful melancholy of flavours; I’ve longed to taste those potatoes again every day since. Every single dish hit the spot I wanted it to hit. Very rarely do I dine out at a french spot and satisfy the cravings as well as it did at Maison T. Portions were also great, I gracefully had to loosen my belt after this meal as well. This is my second time back and will be coming more onwards as I’d like to try everything on the menu once.
Thank you to Carolina and the restaurant staff for your wonderful service. You will be seeing me around again resolutely.
We had a 6:30 reservation and the place was packed. There were 3 front of house staff (host, 2 servers/bartenders).
We ordered fois gras to start, with Wagyu steak frites, and short ribs with vegetables for our mains.
The fois gras was seared perfectly, maintaining the sweetness.
The shirt ribs was beautifully prepared, and served with potatoes. The red wine sauce was lovely and rich.
The steak frites was perfectly cooked with minimal banding. The black pepper sauce was decadent and very savory. It was served with a yuzu mayonnaise.
All in all, Maison T has built a strong following in the neighbourhood as an excellent French bistro. Definitely make reservations.
Had 4 apps. Foie Gras a standout. Every person got the steak frites! Highly recommend. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Frites almost shoestring. Crisp. Salty. Perfect.
Had 4 desserts. Outstanding.
I’ll be a regular.
Our starters were the Endive salad and the French Onion soup. Would be really hard to match this soup anywhere, as it was very delicious, considering I’m not an onion person. The endive salad was nice, but the dressing on it was a tiny bit bitter for us, which some other people might enjoy.
Our mains were the Lamb saddle and a Halibut special. Absolutely divine in every sense and cooked to perfection. Lamb was succulent and you could tell the chef gave that perfect medium rare. Halibut was glistening and perfectly cooked, and the sauces for both were amazing.
our only issue was wanting even more food haha. Also requested a candle for my fiancé’s dessert before time, and we got that as well.
Tonight the steak frites was outstanding!
The food was delicious.from the warm baguette with the salty butter to the chopped not grounded steak tartare every dish was a little piece of France
The atmosphere dynamic. We are definitely going back with some friends.
