I’d love to give a proper review, but we didn’t even get past the power crazy “doorman”. Went there around 11pm for a couple quick drinks for a 21st birthday and we had one person wearing sweatpants that “barely looked like sweatpants”, were told there was a dress code. Considering the look of the interior and the grade of the few patrons there, I was shocked. We had 3 South Bend officers in our group you think they would have liked the business and the additional protection but I guess not. I won’t be back.

We went out with some of our friends and decided to try something new and were well taken care of by Nicki and Lindsey at MOB. Walking in, we felt a Boston/New Orleans vibe which is definitely reflected on the menu. The soups came piping hot, the french fries were amazing with a nice kick. The oysters were fantastic and the drinks on point. We enjoyed the fun, lively yet chill atmosphere and would definitely go back.

Years ago when I was a regular here it was the place to be. Very sociable and busy. Stopped in over Christmas. I had to convince my brother to give it another chance as he believed things had taken a turn for the worse since then. All it took was 3 sentences from the rude, self-important bartender for us to decide to just turn around and never come back. We hadn’t even taken our jackets off. With drinking at an all time low and South Bend being a decrepit slum you would think patrons would be valued. Evidently not the case. I cannot for the life of me conceive of what we did to elicit this behavior from the green-haired woman that soured us on the Oyster Bar, considering all we’d done was say hello and ask what decent tequilas they had. I have to assume it’s political given her attitude. You don’t run into that type of nonsense at McCormick’s or Corby’s.

Nice Place. Once inside and seated down by the bar you get a relaxed New Orleans feeling or even Old Town Boston . With an open kitchen at the end of the bar you can watch your food being made and the chefs making their art. Service was good , cocktails were on point and that ole school feeling makes it all tie in. This was a Fun stop. Cheers!

I consistently have great experiences at Madison Oyster Bar, whether for a meal or an event. I love their lunches, many people don’t know they’re open for lunch 11-1:30 Tues-Fri. Great service and many things are housemade! Also a great spot to host a private event. Variety of options for seafood lovers, burgers, housemade Clam Chowder and Chili.

Such a great vibe! Oysters were on point. We were just looking for something close to our hotel and this place exceeded our expectations. Low key atmosphere with amazing food. We had raw oysters and Cajun grilled oysters which were buttery Cajun goodness. French onion soup was superb, crab stuffed mushrooms, clam strips felt right out of the east coast. Major bonus points kitchen is open until 1am!!!! Adam our server went above and beyond to make sure our food, drinks were always perfect. We will be back next time we come to south bend for a game! Check this place out it will not disappoint

Visiting from out of town, decided to give this place a try, and I’m very glad we did! Great place, great experience! Food is stellar, service is even better. Our Bartender Nicole was on point all evening. She was attentive, kind, and just brings a great vibe. If you haven’t been to Madison Oyster Bar before, I highly recommend trying this place out.

One of my favorite bars to go to on a night out. Foods good, drinks are great and the 3rd floor is a blast. I’ve even rented it out for my sister’s birthday party last year and we had a great time.

I truly enjoy this place. When other bars close early, not only is this place open later, but the menu is awesome. I recommend you have a bowl of the French onion after your drinking, or anything else offered on the menu. This is a South Bend gem for the night life.
