We stopped by Taqueria Leon and were blown away by how good everything was. The food is truly delicious, fresh, flavorful, and prepared with so much care. You can taste the love in every bite.

On top of that, the staff is incredibly friendly. They make you feel welcome the moment you walk in, and the service is fast yet personal. It’s the kind of place that instantly becomes a favorite.

If you’re looking for amazing Mexican food with genuine hospitality, Taqueria Leon is a must-visit.

Highly recommended!

I saw it had good reviews but was extremely disappointed. Tacos:Their asada had no flavor. Lengua had great texture but was missing something. Chorizo was dry and tasted burnt. Carnitas was average.
Burritos aren’t great either. They have a variety of salsas. Theyre okay. Habanero salsa has a strong onion/garlic flavor and too creamy.
Its an authentic restaurant but not the best. Handmade tortillas are bland nothing special. And its overpriced. They also charge more if u pay with credit card. Wouldn’t recommend or go back.

My wife and I visited for the 1st time on the last Saturday of June 2025. The menu was not overwhelming. The food was well prepared and delicious. The server and the cashier were both friendly and gracious. The mood was festive with music playing not too loudly. The dining room was family-friendly; I appreciated that we didn’t have to walk past a dark bar decorated with too many neon beer signs to get to the dining room. And I appreciated that despite rising prices, the menu offers relatively affordable food for family dining.

Authentic local spot with amazing food. It’s fast, the vibe is fun, and the servings are large.

The staff was a pleasure!

Came there with my husband, sister and brother-in-law for the first time yesterday Nov. 14. Place was amazing, food was sooooooo good (no problems), service was amazing. Everyone who worked there was soooooo kind. I felt the only issue was they didn’t give you a bunch of chips in the basket and you had to charge $1 after if you wanted more. Also, they were out of sliced radish so I wasn’t able to fully enjoy my food without it (food was still amazing) but I would definitely be a returning customer. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

They have been improving a lot. I live in San Bruno and we need a good Taqueria, and this place has now earned a good position
The taco al pastor is very good and very filling. I usually buy one and buy an extra set of tortillas and divided into two. And then I get pupusas because they make them fresh right there.
They usually have three choices of fresh, including Jamaica and Horchata.
The only thing missing is a salsa bar but people mess those up so easily that it might be better not to have one.
On the weekend it has a “festive” atmosphere that definitely reminds me of walking around some of the towns around Cancun.
Parking can be sometimes a little tricky but downtown San Bruno during the week is usually pretty easy.
The chips are perfect and fresh.
I usually ask for a side of tomatillo sauce for the chips.

Service was friendly and quick! The aguachile was pretty tasty! I didn’t care much for the super pastor burrito maybe next time I’ll try I’ll try the carne asada. Place looks nicely decorated 🙂

I was walking down the avenue and twelve clay pots over burners on the patio caught my eye. Today I was determined to get seafood, but as I walked by I was drawn in by the certain variety of choices and seeing the ladies cooking fresh tortillas right there. I looked at everything and decided on three tacos. One pinto bean and cactus, one shredded chicken and one pumpkin flower. I also had freshly made melon juice, or rather agua de melon. The music is a driving techno ranchera as close as I can describe,  the staff is friendly and upbeat. The tortilla lady works the masa with the beat.  Cooks dancing while they cook, customers bopping to the beat, waitresses lip synch and strut around. It’s just a Sunday afternoon @ Taqueria Leon on “the avenue “. Everything was exquisite and it was a very pleasurable and satisfying meal.

We were hungry and found Taqueria Leon. There were plenty of places to sit. We took a table and the server showed up with a small bowl of chips. No salsa..?? I ordered a diet coke and I was brought a can. My dinner was beef enchiladas. They were really good but the rice and beans were very dry. I had to ask for everything, which was irritating. Including salsa, in order to give the sides some moisture. I wasn’t impressed. The best part of dining here was watching the lady make the tortillas. It wasn’t the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to but it was far from the best.

Really good burritos. Very large and filling. The take out bag was very heavy. I feel i got my money worth. They were busy but it was worth it. Thanks
