Casual atmosphere. Good service. Only drawback was that I ordered the vegetable thali and failed to mentioned that I’m vegan. The dish is labeled vegan but still had yogurt and a sweet ball with diary. So make sure you tell them you’re vegan so that they get the order right. Other than that we had a great meal. Clearly labeled vegan options on the menu. Very extensive menu with Indian Nepali and Tibetan food. With different spice levels from mild to extreme. We got the medium and it was pretty spicy for us and I’m Mexican so be warned

Kudos to the restaurant for being open during early lunch hours. The daughter greeted me and was gracious to have served my initial visit.

Here I chose a pickup order of lamb biryani (level 2 spice, $15.99). The saffron threads and turmeric gave the rice nice bright hues of orange and yellow to the long-grain rice, the generous lamb was flavored well and tender, and the yogurt marinade on the side complimented my rice well.

A great Nepalese staple place in R-burg. I’ll return to the restaurant in the future to dine in.

Allo Dum is 10/10! I had the Lamb Saag as well, delicious mild flavor ( I got a level 3)

I’ve had Himalayan/Indian cuisine from California to North Carolina and this is the best spot I’ve found. Every visit and every dish has been superb. The wait staff are friendly and attentive, the restaurant and bathrooms are very clean, and most importantly the food is amazing. The Chai is one of the most flavorful and perfectly spiced I’ve ever had. On one occasion it was a little bitter, but that happens. I live about 30 minutes away but it is always worth the drive.

Downside, parking is a bit tight/awkward, but you have that with most places in the area.

Delicious food, kind staff. We came for early lunch and it wasn’t very busy. The food is amazing and the leftovers heated up well

Do NOT let the outside deter you. This place is really cute inside. I cannot believe they are not constantly packed. This was my first Indian food experience and wow it was a great one.
Our server was a young man and he was so polite, very nice and attentive. He recommended the chai tea and it was by far the best I have ever had.
I will absolutely be back! This is a must try if you have not already

I really like the food here, but there have been times when it has been too spicy when I normally order it at a level 3. To play it safe, I keep it at level 2 now. I can handle even spicier dishes just fine, but since I like trying new foods, I don’t want my mouth to be on fire when I am deciding whether I like the next item or not. The others in my group are split 50-50. Some love the food, but others, as well as my brother, are not really fans. Salt levels may vary depending on when we have visited. I love the veggie pakora, vegetable chow mein, fried vegetable momos, and so on. They have a ton of spicy and savory Indian dishes that are already vegan. The staff is super friendly, helpful, and welcoming, but there have been mixups when we are being served by new waiters. There’s only a delay when there are a lot of to-go orders. If you are planning to eat a large meal, skip the booths and sit at a table.

I really like this place. It’s kind of an intimate place it’s not loud there is music playing like I like but not loud they do have a TV it is videos nepali videos which I enjoy because if I’m eating at that type of restaurant I want to see their culture I don’t want to eat at at a restaurant that is Nepali and watch Hawaiian videos anyway the food was good this time the chicken was a little dry but it still was delicious the service is excellent the bartender does a good job serving drinks and food very respectful very kind warm service you get when you go seats are very comfortable it is an intimate setting I really enjoy it there’s no steps so if you have a wheelchair or you need that kind of accessibility it is easy to get to same for coming out the parking lot it’s easy to get in if you need that kind of accessibility

Have been here twice now and plan on going back to try more things. The food has been inconsistent- the chicken 65 and Chaana Chat are delicious, but the curries weren’t great.

I was underwhelmed by the Chicken Korma and Goat Bhuna Masala curries. The korma had a lot more of a tomato taste than and less of a creamy nutty taste than I’d like. Maybe it’s just south indian vs north indian styles, but it wasn’t as good as some others in the area. The Goat Bhuna was good, but the curry itself had the consistency of just ….oil. Like it needed more ingredients to add to the oil. Some of the goat chunks were 90% bone and it was hard to get any meat off.

That said, the naan bread was great, and the Chicken Chiola was good as well. The chicken 65 and Chaana Chat have been the standout best dishes so far that I’ve tried.

So far, the Indian dishes have been underwhelming, but the Nepalese dishes have exceeded expectations. I’m curious to try more of the menu though. The menu is *huge* and it’s hard to rate a restaurant after having only tried 5% of the menu.

Great little spot to dine in or do take out. This review was made after our second visit here and we did take out for the sake of time. “Sauce” took our order quickly, she’s always kind, and the meals came out fresh and tasty just like the 1st time when we originally dined in. I love the freshness of the shrimp fried rice with fresh veggies because the shrimp were jumbo and very good. My daughter had fries, and my husband and I both had to reframe from eating them because even THOSE were good too. My husband loves his food extra spicy and I don’t, so we were able to get our meals made according to our separate taste levels. We tried goat marsala, shrimp marsala, garlic Naan, and shrimp fried rice. I will return here… over and over as long as the ingredients remain fresh. Great NEW rice spot for our family.
