I was prowling around Forest Hill & Chippenham, trying to decide what to eat for dinner. I have never eaten at Hibachi Express even though I have lived in the area for 4 years. So, I gave ’em a whirl. The young lady who took my order was polite & took the time to explain the menu & specials. I ordered the shrimp with veggies & fried rice. Although the rice needs work (it wasn’t even “fried”. It was still white), the veggies & shrimp were outstanding! Fresh, crisp veggies & firm, tasty shrimp (my cat even hit me up for some shrimp & she rarely begs for “people food”. She ate the entire piece of shrimp!). It was quite a lot of freshly prepared food for $14. There was so much food that I ate it for lunch & dinner the next day. I will be ordering here again. There are a lot of menu items I want to try!

Contrary to some recent reviews this place delivered exactly what I wanted. $25 after tax for a steak, shrimp, and chicken expressly cooked hibachi. Steak cooked medium for the best flavor, it definitely won out over the chicken. Shrimp was not rubbery in my experience. Large enough portion to have both lunch and dinner. Definitely will be going back.

Place used to be the best quick go to.
BUT. Something changed, either management or Chef, and I refuse to waste the money anymore.
Vegetables undercooked, steak overcooked, and quality of steak definitely has gone down from a year or two ago.
Thought it might have been a bad spell, but thats 3 times in a row people.

I read through a couple of past reviews and here is my review of this place. Came here for something quick as it was late and I didn’t want to cook. Previous reviews had decent looking pictures so I gave it a chance. I ordered the steak yakisoba and an order of gyoza. Similar to some other reviews, I would say the steak was great! Flavorful, not tough. The veggies were excellent too, although I think it had too much onion chunks. The noodles were unfortunately a bit bland which made the dish overall bland. They did provide a sauce which helped. The gyoza was really good and the soy sauce provided paired well with the noodles. Service was excellent and he was a very friendly person. I waited about 10min for my food and had plenty of leftovers for the next day, which heated up nicely. Overall, it was a decently average spot and will definitely come back.

My partner and I met up with a couple of friends here around 12:30pm on a Saturday in April. It was not busy but had a steady stream of people coming through. The service staff were super friendly and helpful. The food was delicious! Their yum-yum sauce was really good also and they were not stingy with it! They appeared to be going through some sort of renovations or construction though, so the interior looked shambly and messy. It definitely brought down the vibe. Overall though, I’d recommend going there if you’re craving hibachi and want it quickly!!

Stopped by today at lunchtime to get something for dinner, put it in the fridge for a few hours, then microwaved it, so freaking good! Based on previous bad reviews, I seriously did not expect you to be this good but I’ve got probably 2 1/2 meals for $12, highly recommend!

I’ve visited this place a few times never left a review. Very good hibachi dishes never been dissatisfied yet, seafood always taste fresh, good quality chicken and steak and the veggies are cooked just the way I like them. Definitely a must try…

If I could have given this zero stars, I would. This is beyond ridiculous. It’s supposed to be hibachi salmon with all veggies and no rice. One thing they did get right was the veggies. However, did someone else get the rest of my salmon?
First time trying this place and the absolute last.
