At Fat Beet Farm, we take pride in educating the community on what makes sustainably grown food better. While you are here, feel free to pick up some Fat Beet / locally sourced goods and merchandise, schedule a tour, enjoy our food, and ask as many questions as you have! For fresh, local produce lovers like us, the ever-growing Farm-to-Table movement is one of the most exciting food developments we have seen in decades. If you are not already familiar, Farm-to-Table (sometimes called Farm-to-Fork) is a concept that involves food that is grown locally, sold locally, and prepared by our talented chefs in our state-of-the-art production facility for our local clientele. And of course, where incredible freshness is found, the flavor follows.

Reviews
We ordered two chicken sandwiches (one spicy) and a vegetarian sandwich with sauerkraut. The veggie sandwich was actually the standout of the bunch! The chicken sandwiches were served hot, which we appreciated, though the “spicy” one could have used a bit more kick. One small letdown: we all agreed a side of chips would have been a nice touch for the price.
Ultimately, it was a 4-star experience. The food is good, but we felt we overpaid for the amount of food we received. Between the prices and the $20 farm tour, it felt a bit steep for us. Glad we tried it, but probably won’t be regulars.
The desserts were the stars of the show. I absolutely loved the beet cake, which is a healthy take on red velvet cake. So moist and delicious! We also had a delicious cinnamon roll.
We plan to go back for a sourdough loaf of bread. It looked really nice.
## Overall Experience
They did have a beet salad in the refrigerator that we bought, and the food tasted okay overall. The atmosphere felt a bit upscale and polished—not quite our style, though very nice with outdoor seating.
## Pricing and Value
Prices came across as a little high for what we got, especially given the beet selection shortfall. Still, it made for a pleasant visit worth checking out once.
## Recommendation
3 stars. Solid farm-to-table spot in Tampa with fresh grabs like salads and baked goods, but go in with modest beet expectations.
We were excited to check out Fat Beet Farm after hearing about its farm-to-table concept, but our visit was a bit underwhelming. The food was decent—fresh and flavorful—but definitely overpriced for what you get.
One major downside: all seating is outdoors. On a hot Florida day, that meant battling the heat and a swarm of flies while trying to enjoy our meal. It really took away from the experience.
To top it off, the farm portion—which we were looking forward to exploring—was closed to the public due to a private event. It would’ve been nice to know that ahead of time.
Overall, it’s a charming idea with potential, but the execution didn’t quite live up to the hype for us.
Seating is only outdoors, so keep that in mind when planning a visit. It also felt a little less like a traditional farmers market since much of the produce was refrigerated or already prepared, though everything still looked fresh and appetizing. I did try calling a few times before my visit but couldn’t get anyone on the phone.
Overall, the food was excellent, the options were abundant, and I’m definitely looking forward to coming back!
