The Golden Steer is the oldest continually operating steakhouse in Las Vegas and has been serving “The Best Steaks on Earth” TM since 1958. It is filled with history and stories from the famous celebrities who dined there, and the signature red leather booths named in their honor, from Frank Sinatra to Marilyn Monroe. Today, restaurant patrons experience fine dining at its most classic core – tuxedoed servers, white tablecloths, Caesar salad tableside, flaming desserts, giant twice-baked potatoes, and the most flavorful steak you’ve ever had.

Came here last Monday to celebrate our anniversary—this place is so hard to get reservations, so we were excited to secured a reservation! Arrived a bit early so we hung out at the bar for a drink—then got seated in the back room in a nice comfy booth. Ambiance here is great—classy, old school vibe. Service was EXCELLENT. Our server Christopher was awesome—friendly and attentive. All the staff were nice.

Food was delicious and well flavored—recommend the Shrimp de Jonghe, Prime Rib 14oz. English Cut and 16 oz. Shorthorn steak. Enjoyed our bottle of Catena Alta Malbec with the food too. For dessert, the Strawberry Triple Cheesecake was so good! We got a complimentary chocolate cake with a candle to celebrate our anniversary, which was so sweet, loved it!

Hope to score reservations again in the future so we can come back!

We made a spontaneous stop at The Golden Steer Steakhouse hoping to get lucky without a reservation, and surprisingly, we did! We arrived around 5:30 PM and were told there was an opening at 8:30 in the bar dining area. We decided to wait it out, grabbed seats at the bar, watched football and ordered appetizers and drinks while we waited.
The drinks were perfect. The filet mignon tartare was okay, but could’ve used a bit more flavor. My husband loved the escargot (I passed on it, but he highly recommends it).
Around 7:30 PM, we were moved to our table. I ordered the petite filet mignon (yes, I love my steak), and it was good. The ribeye was also solid, and the Brussels sprouts were a great side. Overall, the food was enjoyable and the experience felt very classic steakhouse.
A couple things to note: parking is limited, so Ubering or being prepared to wait for a spot is a good idea. Also, this is definitely a splurge, expect to spend over $300 for two people (our bill was $320)
All in all, a great experience with classic Vegas steakhouse vibes, good service, and solid food. Would return, especially for a special occasion

I just ate probably the best steak I’ve ever had. And I’ve had a lot of great ones. For the life of me, I can’t figure out how anyone would rate it less than 5 stars. They need to pack up and head back to Golden Corral. I was in town for business and had a free night. I showed up with no reservation and got a seat at the bar. The steak was very tender and the flavoring was amazing. That juice acts as a dipping sauce, and the seasoning elevates the steak above all others. Caesar salad – excellent! Brussel sprouts – amazing! Even the bread and butter was next level! Golden Steer is a bucket list place. When in Vegas, plan a visit. It’s expensive, but man it’s worth it!

An exceptional dining experience from start to finish. We started with the Shrimp DeJonghe and the tableside Caesar salad—both were outstanding. For our main, we ordered the Dinner for Two featuring a perfectly cooked ribeye paired with an Australian lobster tail, served with Brussels sprouts. Every dish was executed flawlessly.

Dessert was the tableside Banana Foster, which was not only delicious but a great experience in itself. The tableside salad and dessert added a special touch that really elevated the evening.

The service deserves special mention. Our waiter was exceptional—truly Michelin-level attention to detail. Attentive without ever being intrusive, knowledgeable, and genuinely made the night feel special. Everything was handled perfectly.

Yes, it’s pricey, but absolutely worth it for the quality, service, and overall experience. To top it all off, we were seated in the iconic Rat Pack booths, which made the night even more memorable. Highly recommended for a special occasion or anyone looking for a classic, top-notch dining experience.

An outstanding classic Vegas dining experience from start to finish. I walked in and was lucky enough to get a seat at the bar, which turned out to be a great way to experience the place. The atmosphere immediately sets the tone old school, elegant, and full of history, and the service was absolutely top notch from the moment I sat down.

Started with the beef cheek croquettes, which were exceptional. Rich, deeply flavorful, perfectly crisp on the outside and soft inside. A fantastic way to begin the meal and easily one of the highlights.

The ribeye was truly outstanding. Cooked perfectly, beautifully seasoned, and full of flavor. Yes, it is pricey, but the quality absolutely delivers and you feel like you are getting exactly what you came for. This is steakhouse cooking done properly.

Between the food, the service, and the timeless Vegas atmosphere, this is a place that lives up to its reputation. A special experience and one I would happily repeat.

Six month reservation to celebrate my friend’s and my birthday. Parking is terrible so we used a driving service to get in and out. The decor and the staff were fantastic, and seeing historic Vegas names and portraits was great.

For the food we went all out. The seafood tower was fresh and had an excellent price point compared to others in town. The table made Caesars salad was a treat and he added an extra spoon of anchovy sauce making it the most flavorful salad I’ve ever had at a steakhouse.

For the main course we both got a steak and lobster tail. The lobster was very good and the presentation was amazing. I mentioned my steak was overdone, I got medium when I asked for rare, and I was told “that’s too bad”. I ate two slices and asked for a box. The sides we got were the topped Mac and cheese and mushrooms, both very good.

After dinner we both got a special birthday cake. Solid chocolate flavor with a crispy base, not too sweet. Nice end to the meal.

Tldr: historic Vegas steakhouse and well worth the reservation. If I ever come back I will probably get everything but the steak.

I went to Golden Steer for my birthday, it was one of the best steak experience I had! The staff was very polite and courteous. I had my hesitations sitting at the bar. The guys at the bar was just as courteous and I had the chance to interact with great people. I will definitely return when I’m back in the Vegas area!

Wow!! We were recommended to try out this steakhouse by some friends & it was worth every penny! From the moment we went in to the minute we left. Every waiter was PHENOMENAL, so knowledgeable, kind, & patient. We tried the jumbo shrimp as an appetizer followed by a ribeye & New York strip with Caesar salad! 10/10! Everything was SO SO good! Can’t wait to come back when we visit Vegas again.

I visited this establishment to celebrate my wife and my anniversary. I chose this place based on a friend’s enthusiastic recommendation, so I made a reservation approximately six months in advance. I must say, the host at the entrance was exceptionally pleasant and escorted us to a booth that was incredibly beautiful inside. We began our meal with the finest Caesar salad I have ever tasted. I thought to myself that if the meal started off this well, the food must be outstanding, and I can assure you, it did not disappoint. The steak was incredibly tender and delicious, and I must emphasize the importance of the butter. The prime mac and cheese was extraordinary, and the twice-baked potato was equally delightful. If you order the cherry jubilee, you will be treated to a wonderful presentation. I will certainly return to GOLDEN STEER.

I had not been here for 15 years. We had reservations for 4:30pm which is when they open. Upon arrival the parking lot had a line of people waiting. They separated reservations from walk-ins and had 2 different lines. For some reason, walk-ins were allowed in first. We stood out in the heat for 20 mins. Upon entry it was just a free for all at the front door. It was totally disorganized. There was also a strict dress code in the email we received but when we showed up many people were dressed in shorts, sandals, and looked like they had on clothes they slept in.

Service was incredible. No trouble with service. Atmosphere was great. The place still looks like an old school mob restaurant.

Now the food: the steak was a complete disappointment. Hard and crusty on the outside and absolutely zero flavor. It was no better than the steak you would get at Outback or Lone Star. The prices are also very high. The filets are $95 each. I also had the crap cakes which were delicious.

Wait time: Our steaks took 50 minutes to arrive at our table. No acceptable.

For the price I expected a much better steak. I’ve eaten at lower end steak houses in Las Vegas that had much better steaks. They also need more organization at the front door.
