Amazing ! Beautiful restaurant with i door and outdoor sitting. The food was fabulous. The service was superb. Great vibe like you’d expect in a typical Italian restaurant with many true Italians. The milanese and branzino were so good. Full of flavors and made to perfection. The ricotta cake was absolutely a knock out. Wow. Great wine selection and yummy sorbet. I’m coming back very soon.

My 4th visit to Madeo over the years & 1st visit to this location on Sunset! My cousin & I came for dinner this past week & had a fantastic experience (he has joined me for 2 of my visits here). The standouts for us were the Veal Lasagna, Truffle Pasta, Napoleon, & Tiramisu! The wine pairing that our waiter recommended with dinner was also great. 10/10, will be back for years to come whenever I am in town!

We went here for a large family dinner and ordered many things from the extensive menu. I was very excited to have dinner here. It’s a beautiful room a d bar. In addition the outside environment is really nice as it’s next to the One hotel. The service was impeccable. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Five stars for Service. Love that – especially with a large party!!
However, the food was underwhelming. The presentation was nice and appetizing and the appetizers were good, but many of the main courses were bland, underseasoned, and or lukewarm or even cold. My $130 Dover sole smelled fishy…. The desserts were really good, however. So overall, it’s a four star experience. By the time we left the place was slammed with people. It’s a very trendy or popular spot apparently. Worth the experience.

Big fan of their new location. Absolutely beautiful ambiance with fantastic outdoor seating.

Our waiter was a bit odd and unhelpful, but not sure what else to say about that.

Portions are ridiculously small, but if you order correctly, you can leave feeling full. I think the prices are unjustified – the food is good, but not for that price

If you’re looking for a top-tier restaurant – Madeo is the place for you.

Luxurious and outstanding atmosphere, a professional, efficient, and kind waitstaff.
If you’re in the mood for a fun, fancy, and upscale evening in Los Angeles – this is definitely the spot.

Authentic Italian cuisine.
So let’s begin:

For starters, we ordered the artichoke salad, burrata, and pizza.
Everything was tasty, but the pizza was legendary!!
The tomato sauce was just so good – you can truly taste the quality of the ingredients in every bite.

For mains, we had the special (ravioli stuffed with spinach), the truffle pasta, and the penne pomodoro – the restaurant’s signature dish.
As I said, everything was wonderful.
But there’s “wonderful” – and then there’s divine.
The penne isn’t the most popular dish by accident (and you’re hearing this from a die-hard cream & mushroom girl ).

It was perfectly balanced in every way –
light, flavorful, not heavy at all.
Of course, the penne was cooked al dente, and the sauce… oh, the sauce.
The chef (who is also the owner’s son) truly works magic with tomatoes.

For dessert, we had two items – I’m not sure of the name of those filled dough balls, but they were very tasty.
We also had the Napoleon cake and… wow wow wow!!
Don’t skip it if you go!

Thank you so much for the hospitality.

Madeo Restaurant is truly a standout dining experience. From the moment you walk in, you feel the elegance, warmth, and attention to detail that define classic Italian hospitality.

The food is exceptional beautifully prepared, rich in flavor, and made with the highest-quality ingredients. Every dish feels authentic, refined, and perfectly balanced. You can tell this is a place that takes pride in tradition and excellence.

It’s becoming rare to find restaurants that deliver outstanding food, flawless service, and consistency all in one place The Madeo does it effortlessly.
A true 5-star experience and absolutely worth returning to. ✨

Went last night with a friend who hadn’t been before. I haven’t been in a little while, since last summer. Will never come back again. They charge for a “taste” of wine. I’ve never come across this at any fine establishment of any kind. The wine our server suggested wasn’t what I liked. So a whole glass was wasted, but thankfully he said he “wanted to make us happy” so he got another different wine for me which was more to my liking. Our veal and tuna sauce appetizer was ok. The flavors and texture were nice but we both have never had anything like it, so we were open to trying. It was almost like contents of a sandwich. I was hoping they had more like a crudo or tartar of some sort but they didn’t.

What the kicker was is we were very excited to try their sea urchin pasta. We get sea urchin/uni all the time and are very aware of what it looks and tastes like (thanks, SEBASTIAN). We got it and it tasted nothing of sea urchin. You also can’t see the sea urchin. When you order sea urchin/uni anywhere, they make it a point that you SEE it, even little remnants of it. We gave it one bite and were just unhappy so we wanted to order something else. We asked for a manager, and the “manager” named SEBASTIAN came by. He said he was “kind of a manager” but more for back of house. When we NICELY told him we just weren’t fans of it and would like to order something else, he actually had the audacity to tell us that it’s strange and no one “ever” complains about it and they love it. They’ve been “doing this dish for 35+ years” and it’s good and we should like it. I couldn’t believe how he was talking to us and I even said ‘Hey I’m being nice I don’t know why you’re talking to us like that. So instead of ordering something else we are going to leave so bring us the check please.’ The fact that it offended him was beyond. Mind you service overall is very slow. App took a long time and a big gap until we got our pasta.

Back and forth took a lot of waiting and waiting, we had to ask multiple times what was going on. Had to flag people down multiple times. Where is the check? We were still hungry and wanted to leave to go somewhere else. We let our server SIMONE know he was great and the busser was too. It was just SEBASTIAN that was the issue.

Later on DARIO, the actual manager of the front of house came by and apologized. Even made a bad joke about SEBASTIAN being French and that’s why his attitude was that way. He mentioned they “took care of the other glass of wine and pasta”. Obviously you did because those were things not enjoyed so you’re not doing us any favors. They really should have offered to do something else for us. We truly were not being difficult in any sort of way so it was incredibly shameful.

Will never come back or suggest Madeo to anyone because of SEBASTIAN. Who supposedly is their “sommelier”…we couldn’t believe it. A guy with that kind of title talked very down to us and treated us like we didn’t know what we were talking about. Incredible!

I couldn’t believe the gaslighting and how he was trying to make it as if WE were the problem. He should have apologized to us. But all he did was leave our table in disgust and left us to have to ask for someone else to help us. Yet the rest of the staff and establishment had to deal with his ignorance and shameful behavior and apologize for HIM.

We went next door to Juniper and got the seared tuna and it was perfect and fantastic!

Madeo is a disgrace considering times now and how people are limiting themselves to dining out and where they spend their money. You need to get SEBASTIAN straight.

Edit – I attached previous diners photos of their sea urchin/uni pasta. This is what it should look like. I truly think they were trying to pull a fast one – look at our photos. NO SEA URCHIN/UNI, not even any tiny bits!!!! RIDICULOUS!!!

I consider Madeo one of the most go to restaurants in LA. Its going to show the attention to detail in service which resturants should know and understand to be successful, i’m sure one of the main reasons would be the resturant owner Alfio Vietina who has passed by our table told us about the history of the resturant and personally insures the quality of service and food that we got and has done the same to all tables, perfection would be the only word to describe this place !! Well done

One it comes to the seating, environment and vibes of the resturant it setts the standard for what a fine dinning resturant should be like.

And in terms of food for someone who has been to Italy multiple times i love how they were able to maintain the true italian taste in their dishes. We order a simple penne pomodoro and a veal stake which were so delicious because of the original al dante style pasta and true taste of fresh tomatoes in the dish.

Finally, i would like to thank their team of waiters for the prestigious service they provide.
