Gerardi’s Café in South Yarmouth is hands down my favorite restaurant of all time. Every year when we come to Cape Cod for vacation, this place is an absolute must—and it never disappoints.
The food is consistently outstanding. Tonight we had the veal parm, the short rib pasta, and the Alfredo—all perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and made with the freshest ingredients. The homemade bread they bring to the table is warm, crusty, and impossible to stop eating.
For dessert, we had the German chocolate cake and the lemon ricotta cheesecake special—both were incredible, the perfect sweet ending to a perfect meal.
You can truly taste the love in every bite. The fact that the owner is also the chef, and it’s a family-run restaurant, makes the experience even more special. The service is warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting.
If you’re anywhere near Cape Cod, do yourself a favor and make a reservation here. This is the best Italian food I’ve ever had—and one of the best dining experiences you’ll find on the Cape.
Don’t miss it!

Is it the best Italian restaurant on the east coast? I can’t say for sure.
Is it the best Italian place I’ve ever been to? Absolutely. And I’ve been to a thousand places. New York City, Boston’s north end, our home in the Capital Region, etc.
Chef Diego and his wife Sasha have been knocking our socks off for 24 years with the best cuisine around.
Meatballs as good as my Nonna’s, crab cakes to die for, and excellent chicken and fish choices. And tonight? Papardelle carbonara that was lights out.
I wondered aloud if I could get carbonara this good in Rome itself.
Great cocktails, stellar service, warm atmosphere. If you’re on vacation in Cape Cod, you don’t want to skip this gem.

The food is absolutely amazing. Our server was attentive and helpful. You get free mini appetizers along with your bread and the portions are filling. They always have creative specials and a menu with lots of options. The dessert menu is not as varied, but everything is still delicious. I would definitely recommend making a reservation as they get packed and there is usually a wait.

A cut above what you might expect in a tourist seafood area. A REAL Itilian Restaurant with home made pasta and sauces that are as flavorful as you might find anywhere.
The outside is not flashy but when you step inside this quaint small authentic restaurant you will understand why it is so hard to get a reservation. Plan ahead to make the reservation and treat yourself to a top notch experience.

We happened upon Gerardi’s Cafe upon arriving in Yarmouth around 6:30 on a Saturday night. We didn’t have a reservation and they were super busy, but they were able to fit us in. The restaurant does a great job of spacing everyone due to COVID guidelines and we felt safe from other people. The staff couldn’t have been kinder. We ordered right away and the food came out quickly and was delicious. We even got a complimentary appetizer bite to enjoy while waiting for our meal. Topped it off with a hot shot of espresso! Definitely will be coming back when in the area again.

Highly highly recommend to anyone wanting delicious fresh and authentic Italian food. The waitress we had was AMAZING though I cannot recall her name. The owner even came out to meet us and thank us for complimenting the food. A small business you should visit. We even got clothing with their awesome Medusa logo! 10/10

Wow! It’s been a while since I had some good Italian food at a restaurant! Tomato sauce was on point and didn’t tasted like canned cheap tomato sauce.
Loved it! Would definitely recommend and I’d go back!

Quality and quantity of food is exceptional. We had a salmon special, chicken picatta, and the absolute best risotto ever. Service warm and attentive. A bit noisey and too cool temperature for our comfort. Try to get a booth – our table was small and in the midst of everything, a bit distracting. But we would definitely return.

Hostess was nice but being from out of town we didn’t know we needed a reservation but the hostess tried to work with us and told she has another party coming in a hour that had a reservation. So she kindly asked is that enough time for you guys? Before we even had a chance to make a choice the bus girl proceeded to interject and say here for next time make a reservation, me and my fiancé was stunned how ignorant she was and even the hostess gave her a look very unprofessional!! Bad experience for the rest of the meal!! Food was rushed meatball was disgusting my seafood dinner that was forty three dollars was barely warm not at all a good experience
