Located close to the Weehawken reservoir in Union City on the Palisade Ave, this outlet is a bit away from the hustle and bustle of the busy union city area close to the Jersey City!
The atmosphere is cool with the music setting up vibe for a pleasant dining experience! The servers are friendly too with a warm smile but didn’t seem to offer a particular opinion about the recommendations!
I went for a goldie mango bowl which had mango at the bottom, topped with granola, bananas, strawberry and Nutella! The mango paste did seem a bit sweet as in terms of extra added sugar which shouldn’t be there as they market themselves as a healthy restaurant. The ingredients were definitely fresh and the cost though seemed to be a bit on the higher side given the location!
Overall a good experience for me but not sure about returning soon as there could be better options offering the same thing in my neighborhood of Jersey city!

The food is overly sweet here, especially the granolas. It meant to be healthy and fun. It’s quite the opposite. Everyone behind the counter was very nice. The place is sunny and spacious. This will be our one time experience.

Came to playa Jan 22 2026 @ 9:35 pm to get turned away, because the girl with the glasses said they now close at 9:30 due to them having to clean because the people that would normally clean are not no more. But on Google it says they’re open until 10:00 pm. Don’t know when the change happened being that I came a couple days ago around the same time and got a bowl. Very disappointed there was no closed sign on the door and why when the first girl without glasses asked me was there to pick up and I said no I wanted to order, she referred me to girl with the glasses who then tells me the store is closed, the first girl should’ve told me that store was closed but she didn’t, confusing

I didn’t taste the bowl yet but I just left this place with an unpleasant feeling. There’s a lack of politeness these days and it’s exhausting. I always say good morning and thank you to every place I go. It doesn’t cost much to say the same. I say “thank you” to the girl who handed my order and I am met with silence. Just handing me the bag without even making eye contact. I don’t feel welcomed. They act so annoyed with you. Things like this don’t create returning customers. Then they have nerve to ask for tips. Won’t be returning based on this experience alone. Let’s see if the bowl is even good.

Recently moved to this neighborhood.
The place was empty on a 90° day so it was super slow, The team seems somewhat passive aggressive towards new customers coming in.it started at the register..:
I ordered a tire and the cashier was super confused about what I wanted..
The guy on the blender, forgot to add spirulina to the smoothie, when I mentioned it? The young lady was nodding her head yes Yesas if the smoothie had spirulina in it. I noticed it was missing because the color didn’t change. They took it back and added an overwhelmingly amount of spirulina.
Just overall disappointing…
I tried but couldn’t finish it..
I would add portioning utensils to the spirulina, the squeeze bottle may be adding to much product to the smoothies..

It’s so refreshing to sit and eat a frozen/ fresh treat from playa bowls. The bowls here are BIG and the menu has endless add-on options to pack your bowl w protein and nutrients. The Nutella bowl is my recommendation if you don’t know where to start and want something that you’re guaranteed to LOVE.
