I ordered lunch from this place through uber eats and went to pick it up. Finding the address was easy , however, no restaurant was visible. It felt more like a home-based restaurant, and I had to call for someone to bring the food out.

The packaging was neat, and the food was still hot when I got home. I tried the Chandni chowk’s dahi bhalle/ papdi. While the flavors were decent, I wish the components were packed separately—everything was pre-assembled, which made it soggy by the time I ate. Also, the tamarind chutney was missing, which really took away from the flavor. For me, that chutney is essential in elevating any chaat.

Next, I had the Amritsar style chole kulcha. The portion of chole was generous and flavorful, though slightly under-salted and a bit greasy, with a faint burnt note. Still, it was hearty and forgiving. The aloo kulcha, on the other hand, was excellent—fresh, soft, and stuffed generously with spiced potatoes, fried in ghee for a rich taste. Two pieces were more than enough for one person.

I also ordered the radish-carrot pickle, which tasted homemade, fresh, and absolutely delicious.

Overall, the food had a homestyle feel with good quality ingredients. There’s definitely room for improvement in preparation and presentation, but it’s a promising spot if you’re craving simple, hearty punjabi style food.

Update: I ordered again – this time the rajma curry was good. The aloo tiki chat was okay – but again I miss the sweet date- tamarind kind of chutney on top. And the punjabi besan laddu was terrific- it was mildly sweet and was full with dry fruits.

If you are daring enough to enjoy authentic homemade food with love. This is the spot to order from. Each dish was a reminder of true Indian flavor. The ingredients were fresh, and every bite was packed with warmth of home. We need to support businesses like these as they are a staple of our city.

..f you are looking for authentic Indian food, this is the place. I haven’t come across indian food in the entire NYC area, thats as delicious, rich and savory and something that doesn’t make you feel heavy afterwards. The chana masala, daI, kulcha, parantha, tiki chat was ordered for a group and everyone loved it. Really cool place to get delivery or take out from. Hope I knew about it sooner. Can’t wait to order again!

Proper maa ke haath ka khana ❤️
Food is amazing, soulful, and hits you straight in the feels. Found this place first when i was craving aloo puri for breakfast but then ended up getting tiffin every week for more than a year now.

If you’re tired of over-fancy Indian food and just want ghar jaisa khana, this is the spot.
Walked out full, happy, and slightly emotional. 10/10. Doesn’t let me miss home that much

Ordered the chole, palak paneer and khadi pakoda. The khadi pakoda was really good but the chole and palak paneer were very subpar. The paneer wasnt cooked properly and wasn’t seasoned great. As a desi, I feel like this caters to white people and we were left disappointed despite the nice person who gave us the food. Not worth the hype

I’m a little confused how this place has such good reviews. Never written a Google review before but I just thought it was terrible; the palak paneer was almost totally flavorless, whereas the potato bread sandwich appetizer was inedibly salty (I love salt). Two stars only because the butter paneer was fine, but nothing compared to many other Indian places in the city. Very much regret spending my money here.

Food was super delicious! I think from other reviews this is a takeout only restaurant (like homemade stuff) which I always love supporting. I get Chana masala at a lot of different restaurants and theirs was really good! I’d never tried Bun Choley before and I was super happy with that as well, also love that they do weekly specials to try new stuff!
