When I was in Slippery Rock yesterday I decided to check out the Elephant #8 Thai restaurant.
I truly enjoyed the experience. The service was fast and the food was very good. The Fresh Rolls were fresh and the Chicken Pad Thai I ordered spicer than most people like.
They also have a Sushi Menu that looks very tempting.
I asked the server about the name of the restaurant and she told me that in the Buddhist culture the elephant and the number eight are equated with prosperity.
If you are in Slippery Rock and would like to try some good Thai cuisine I highly recommend you check them out.

All of their food is amazing. The service there is lovely and the decorations are super pretty. Me and my fiancé come in as often as we can and we’re never disappointed:)

This was my first time my here and I got to meet the owner. She’s a beautiful woman with a lovely restaurant and great story!
We went for lunch and she was there, she gave us our food herself and she made sure everything was great.
I’d recommend anyone to go there for a nice dinner or a friendly lunch.

Food was excellent, traveling through the area ordered take out for four people and it was ready in the time stated. Trouble with the website / online ordering option but we called and the process was smooth. They prefer cash transactions, if possible.
When we got home it was too good, we forgot to take photos! Penang and Red Curry, Thai fried rice with Chicken, Garlic Chicken, Satay, and some vegetable sushi. Would order it all again but next time will try something new!

Exceeded our expectations. We read reviews ahead of time and it did not disappoint. The service was so fast and the food was all hot and fresh. I ordered the Penang curry with shrimp and it was perfect. Everything we orders was great – I wouldn’t change a thing about any of the dishes. We were very impressed. The owner was very sweet and the staff were all wonderful. If we are ever on the area again we will be sure to come back.

Elephant #8 has an amazing menu and staff. The staff is friendly, attentive and helpful. We love the crab Rangoon appetizers and the sauce they pair with it. Don’t forget the many fun drinks they have. I would advise you to try something different everytime! All there dishes are so flavorful! Highly recommend this place.

My wife, son, and mother stopped in for lunch on a weekend. We were quickly seated and the atmosphere was nice and welcoming. Service was attentive and helpful. There are many pages to the menu, so it may take a little time to decide what you want. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I got the L4 Teriyaki which was on the sweeter side, as did my son. My wife got the L2 Cashew Nut, and my mother got the L10 Pad Woon Sen. The food was great, but one thing I noticed was that my meal portion wise was less than half of what my mother got for her meal. I usually eat one big meal a day, and though my food was great, I found myself wishing I had ordered something with a larger portion. Next time I am looking forward to ordering E1 Tamarind Chicken as I have heard good things about it from my wife. Overall, it was a good lunch, and I would be interested in visiting again.

Cute restaurant, easy going atmosphere, very friendly staff. This was our first time here. Ordered the Yummy Plate appetizer ($8) that came with a spring roll, Thai meatballs, Crab Rangoon, a sweet chili sauce and a ponzu sauce. The veggie spring rolls and crab Rangoon were top notch. Got the Teriyaki chicken that came with a side dish of rice and was plated over veggies with a very good, very hearty Teriyaki sauce and a couple pieces of perfectly cooked broccoli. The cuts of chicken were delicious and tender.
Prices are very good for the quality of food.
Incredibly nice servers, clean place and fast service.
Parking on Main street can be dicey but there’s a Sheetz on the corner.
Definitely will be returning soon.

My colleagues and I dined at this restaurant on a recent trip to Slippery Rock. The food is amazing, especially the fried wantons and tamarind chicken. It was quite busy on the night we visited but we were seated rather quickly and didn’t have a long wait for our food. The restaurant is quite interesting and a little over the top but in a good way – a little like the owner (smile). She made a point to visit each table to make sure that guests were enjoying their meals. I’d definitely eat here again if I’m ever back in Slippery Rock.
