South Side Subs & Groceries

We LOVE South Side Subs. This place reminds me of what convenient stores use to look & feel like. From the brown paper bags you can fill with a variety of Penny candy to their fresh made cold cut subs and glass bottle sodas if you are looking for food to grab and take with you fishing or whatever for the day this is a fun nostalgic experience. My husband LOVES their hand scooped peach ice cream & bananna wafer one. Nice Portions and Fair Pricing.

Old fashioned sub shop/ convenience store. Great food, great prices, and friendly staff! If you are in the area and looking for a quick bite to take with you stop in here & grab something. You won’t be disappointed. My brother and stopped in here on our way fishing & split a 14in Italian sub. It was plenty for 2 people to share & it was only $10!

My complaint is regarding the quality of the food that I ordered only. It was a carryout order so atmosphere did not factor in. I ordered the items. The meatball sub had no provolone, although I ordered it online where I placed the order. The nacho chips were so stae that they were chewy. I couldn’t even swallow one after ten minutes of chewing. The back cheese was child as if directly out of the fridge. The chicken bacon ranch sub had so much dressing on it that it literally ran off the sub and completely overpowered the taste of the sub. Also, the bacon wasn’t cooked thoroughly. I ordered from South Side because I had an Italian coldcut sub that was excellent. I guess “cold subs only” is the answer.

Great food and great service. Everybody is so friendly and clean. Also i cant believe how fast the make your food. It was even close to lunch time and they still had me in and out in 5 minutes. Good job you guys deserve a raise!! The steak salad was on point and the turkey bacon swiss was so delicious i highly recremend coming here!! Great staff and great food!

It’s important to note first that I really don’t care for subs. I eat about one a year. Recently, a friend had gotten a sub from South Side Subs. It looked delicious. Today I was in the area so I decided to pick up subs for my friend and myself. I’m not familiar with their menu so I had alot of questions. Everyone was very helpful. The other thing I don’t care for are raw onions. Well I had to come on here and say everything about my sub was delicious including the onions and the pepper jam. The bread was amazing too. I’ve heard over the years that this place had awesome subs but not caring for subs I didn’t pay attention. I’m going back tomorrow for another one. Very good job.

This is a great convenience store and sub shop. Service is very prompt and courteous. The meatball subs and loaded nachos are delicious, and there is a great selection of Hershey’s ice cream flavors. This is a nice place to have nearby.
