We ate at Ousel & Spur twice during our recent 4 day trip to Big Sky because we found the food and service to be good and also because frankly there are not a ton of good restaurant options in the town (at least based on our search as first-timers to Big Sky).
My son had the chicken parm both nights and really enjoyed it; I tried the bolognese on our first visit and a pizza on the 2nd. Both were good but I probably preferred the pizza. I just felt that there was a bit too much cheese in the bolognese with a piece of burrata and a lot of shredded pecorino on top.
Make a reservation especially if it’s a popular ski weekend because this place can get very busy.

We had a fabulous night at the bar. Sean is the bartender and he took great care of us. I had the Prosciutto pizza with fig and a fried egg. Fabulous. We also had the Bolognese. Solid. We were lucky to sit at the bar. Use resy or the service they are using. Highly recommend.

We eyed this place on our first night in town and then finally tried it on our last, and really glad we did. Focused menu delivered with great quality local ingredients and expertly prepared.
Emily was our server and she was super friendly and helpful, and made us delicious local non-alcoholic shrubs and sodas. The rosemary citrus soda is insanely good!
The bison carpaccio was a big hit with the table. Super thin slices of bison, drowned in a haze of parmesan, arugula and crusty bread.
The pizzas were very good…honestly a 12″ is good for sharing. These are mountain-loaded pies. The spaghetti and meatballs was probably the best dish ordered. Packed with flavor, good portion and steaming hot.

Fun pizza restaurant with a quirky vibe and good menu. Enjoyed a salad and a couple different pizzas – glad to see they have a mix of traditional and unique creations (I’m still not sure how I feel about potato chips as a topping, but hey…) plus a wide range of toppings to build your own. Great service and decent drink list.

My last experience with Pizza was in Maui a few weeks ago and it was terrible (see my reviews). I had been looking forward to good pizza and of all places did not expect to find it here in Big Sky, MT city center. The place is busy so Service was a little slow, which I totally expected and understood, but service was friendly and the restaurant has a good vibe. We did not try any of their pasta dishes, we had their Caesar salad and two types of pizza, including a build your own and both were really good. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you are from this area or visiting.

The pizza here is fabulous!!! We ordered the Wild Mushroom, Prosciutto, and the Hawaiian. The Hawaiian was my favorite out of the three and I’m not a fan of pineapple on pizza but this one was the exception! Someone at our table requested ranch and blue cheese but they do not have either. They did give us a little cup of house made Caesar dressing and it was the best dressing I have ever tasted!! Service was awesome. The drinks were really good too. We will definitely be back when we are in Big Sky again.

Amazing food – pasta was exceptional and the pizza was great too. Service (Emily) was very friendly and helpful. HOWEVER, the host Bradley was extremely aggressive, seemingly angry at everyone in the restaurant and very comfortable showing it. If only he wasn’t such a rude, unpleasant person, the restaurant would’ve been perfect.

My review is not about the food or service. It is about an uncaring staff on January 8, especially the manager or supervisor on duty when I took a tumble. my friends and I had just been seated when I decided to wash my hands in the nearby washroom. None of us had any alcohol up to that point. Due to the light snowfall, the floor was slick with melted snow and as I approached the washroom my left foot slid out and I went airborne. It looked like I was going to go down. However I fought the fall as my right knee hit the floor hard. My chin hit a nearby stool equally hard but at least I didn’t go full splatter on the dirty wet floor. The restaurant supervisor and servers did not bother checking on me. I guess it was beneath them. The male supervisor did assign an assistant to wipe the floor with a towel under her foot. He could have come over and apologized and asked if I was okay. He could have offered me a glass of wine or a dessert, but that didn’t happen either. And why ther isn’t a carpeted mat on the floor when people are walking in with wet shoes is beyond me. Four days later my knee still hurts. I am 74 years old.

We only got some takeout here while walking around some shops. The staff were all very friendly and the restaurant has a nice vibe. We got a beet salad and margarita pizza with pepperoni. Everything was very good! Great flavor in the sauce on the pizza. Nice thin and crispy crust was done to perfection. Would recommend.
