My food was cold and pretty unflavored here. I got the fajita skillet and a single beef tongue taco. The skillet was kind of good, but cold and slightly unflavored. The beef tongue taco was skimped on onions and cilantro. I’ve had real street tacos when I lived in San Diego and these would get you laughed at there. Their menu lacked a lot of other genuine central american dishes that I frequently get at other establishments.
The atmosphere and service was awesome though. They were slammed when I came in and the staff were super attentive and very friendly.

Wow! The food and service is fantastic! The food is top notch, fresh, and full of flavor! Meats were very tender-we had a chicken chimichanga, pork torta, and another tasty little thing (can’t remember what it’s called.) It was presented well and was even better than expected. The flavors and presentation were a little different than the typical Mexican style restaurants, which is actually quite refreshing…and I’m a huge Mexican food fan! Service was quick, very friendly, and accommodating. Prices are very reasonable! Can’t wait to go back!

If you love authentic Mexican food, this is the place for you! Everything is fresh and tasty, even their tortilla chips and salsa! Their flavorful rice and perfectly cooked refried beans are very comforting. Their own spicy green and red sauces go perfectly with all their food, especially their street tacos. I love the variety of street taco options they have: from the common steak, chicken and fish to the more adventurous beef tongue, pork skin and marinated pork! I still can’t believe there is such an authentic Mexican restaurant in Lancaster, Ohio! It’s definitely one of the best restaurants in town!

Was returning to Columbus from Hocking Hills and found here, was greeted while looking at the menu, he asked if he could bring us chips and salsa while he brought us menus even though it’s a walk up order.
Great service and great food, exactly what we needed. Will return and highly recommend.
We had the wet burrito and steak fajitas with the rice and beans which I also loved.

I’ve been here few times and always get excited going back. Food is great and still affordable. Seating can get tight during lunch hours. Service is wonderful! Top place for Mexican food in town!

I have been working here out of town for several months. So we eat out a lot especially lunch. I have tried all of the Mexican restaurants and this has landed as our favorite. It may not be fancy but the food, service, hospitality menu are great. Love that it leans towards authentic. You can’t beat this place for lunch.

I was NOT a believer, -but I can now say that I would return!
The staff are all from Mexico or other such countries!
It is a small, pre-order and sit restaurant, a Mexican twist between a Subway and a eatery. From the outside, you want to keep driving. (We did, 2 times!) Glad we stopped in, though, and their beef fajitas were awesome and large portions. Their salsa is fresh, garlicky and tasty. The chips are freshly made and hot. Tons of different bottles of hot sauces to bring to your table.
Much of the dishes look similar, so would not expect diversity. Don’t think I would pay for whole pieces of meat cooked to order, but they seem to specialize in standard “mexican” blue-collar fare.
If you feel like eating what they do well, and you are comfortable in a blue-collar hole-in-the-wall, (think WWF on the TV’s, self-serve, noisy, friendly, home-town atmosphere), –you will not be disappointed!
FAR better than other options in this town, -one of which “mexican???” restaurants had ketchup (!!!) On every table!
We will come back for a casual dinner!!

This is a great Mexican spot. I’m mobility challenged. They were very kind and took our order at the table so we wouldn’t have to walk to the counter. Their food is authentic and absolutely delicious. They have a homemade red and green hot sauce. They are both so very good. They have about 15-20 tables. They stay busy. I know there are many different Mexican restaurants in Lancaster. You will be doing yourself a favor should you decide to give this place a try.

My number one Mexican restaurant in Lancaster. The food quality is amazing. I’ve been many times and I’m always impressed. My favorite dish is the steak mulitas, but everything I’ve tried has been 10/10. Their sauces are unmatched. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. This is always my number one recommendation to people.

Hands down, the best place to get Mexican food! I’ve been coming to Taqueria El Tapatio since they first opened, and it never disappoints. The food is authentic, flavorful, and always fresh — it truly brings me a little closer to home (California) . The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming, and every visit reminds me why it’s my favorite spot. Highly recommend!
