The moment you pull up in the parking lot, you can smell the most delicious BBQ food you can ever ask for.
You walk in and they are literally smoking the meats infront of you. You can’t get closer to the kitchen than that.
I ordered the following
1 – smoked sausage
1 – beef brisket
1- baked potato
1 – cherry cobbler
1 – beans
1 – BBQ ribs
1 – sweet tea
Not one of those items missed the mark. Amazing job Hard Eight BBQ.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

The brisket was very tender, and I liked the texture of the bark. However, it did have a bit of a grease-smoke flavor to it, which may have come from the warmer. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was excellent, and significantly more spicy than I was expecting!

We live in Michigan and whenever we are visiting the Dallas area we come to Hard Eight. It is one of our favorite BBQ restaurants. Everything is so good. My favorite is the wet brisket and it’s always so moist and tender. They heard we were visiting and they gave us a few freebies to try. Thanks so much. I like how you can pick from all of the meats and make a sampler. Make sure to get the jalapeño corn. I am hungry thinking about it now.

Had 1/2 lb of Brisket & Sweet Tea
Brisket & Tea were excellent .
Set up was odd in that when we walked in we weren’t sure what to do as there were just people sitting down on a stone mantel.
We figured out we were to go behind a fence where they were cooking
Then we were told to go through another door . There was a server there who offered bread, white or wheat ( would have liked toasted or garlic bread options )
Then wasnt aure what to do next, walked through a line with unmarked food options , got what I thiught was butter, but was hot mustard or something
Was looking for baked beans & got some dessert item
They have cooked beans for free, but would have l liked BBQ flavored baked beans, but they were good.
The oroginal sauce was excellent
As a bonus their qas a bar area
Chairs were all on the harder side , girlfriend didn’t like that
Was confusing on how to leave

Service was great! Food was just alright. It was nothing special compared to all the other bbq places in Texas. Terry blacks blows this one out of the water in my opinion. The quality of the BBQ here compares to a smaller bbq shop or even a chain like dickeys. Employees were all super great, but next time I’m looking for bbq in the area I will head somewhere else.

First time bust and wow!!! Walking up to the pit and seeing them cook and slice the food was amazing! The sides were incredible!! As. Texan I think this place is in my room five BBQ places for short! The food is Good and there’s lots of meat options. The sides are good southern staples and the atmosphere is lovely. Absolutely will be back!

My favorite is the sirloin and brisket! Ribs are okay, ribeye was very good, but other dishes were better. Love how you can pick as much as you want and try new things.

This is just something you have to do. When you’re in Texas, do as the Texans do and get some Texas BBQ. The whole experience has a ranch feel. You need to get the jalapeno creamed corn and I just get a jalapeno bun on the side with lots of butter. As for the meat, the ribs are okay but the brisket is absolutely pinnacle. Get some extra to take home.
I like the Roanoke location best because it’s a little historic town and it’s got a great little street you can walk on and go and get some candy for the kids next door or get a drink in one of the cantina’s.

Good food. Very friendly atmosphere. The meat is sold by weight. Sides, separately. Quaint restaurant in a Quaint neighborhood. The staff are friendly and very helpful.

Parking was hard to find since they don’t have a designated parking. You have to look for street parking. We have been here once and the first experience was good. Our 2nd visit, not so much. The brisket was cold since it’s been sitting out a while, and it had no flavor.
