We stopped at Beach Bums on Otter Tail Lake last night and the place was packed—they were in the middle of meat bingo (yes, that’s a thing, and yes, it’s as awesome as it sounds). There were four of us in our group, and somehow, we managed to get seated right away. Service was on point from the jump—we were greeted right away, drinks were ordered and delivered almost immediately.
I went with the ribs, and our server confidently promised they’d fall off the bone. I was not disappointed. Absolutely perfect—tender, flavorful, and cooked just right.
Between the energy of the crowd, the fast service, and one of the best rib dinners I’ve had in a long time, this place nailed it. Highly recommend.

Big Beautiful Traveling
Food is always good. Drinks are pricey… for the little bit of alcohol they put in them. I had a Pele burger with bacon. It was delicious, but the fries were like half the amount of anywhere else’s for an order. I gave service a low rating because when i went to set at the table…i placed my hand on the tables edge to balance myself as i sat down…the table instantly tilted and all the holders & their contents hit the ground busting the glass jar of salt. NOT 1 SERVER came to check on us, or even offer to clean up the mess, nore clean the other stuff that got glass shards im sure on them. I went to get a broom & dust pan as i was walking to where that stood along the wall into the kitchen one young lady says…that is the kitchen…i was like ya, ok i need a broom…she just walks away saying something about bathrooms over there. I cleaned up the mess and put the broom & dust pan back…afain not 1 server checked to make sure all glass was swept up, offered to clean up all thebstuff that had hit the floor or even check to see if anything else had cracked or chipped. I’m not impressed.
I will say the bar tender dude was pretty good. Over all ill eat there again every time im in the area. But I will expect the not so great service from the staff as normal.
I’m not a fuffy booze drink type… but the furry or fuzzy cocunut drink was awesome. The hurricane was not too bad either.
My friends son had the all you can eat wings. They are small wings, but he said all the flavors he had was very good! But $17 for wings…id pass.

Beach Bums is hands down one of my favorite weekend spots by the lake! The atmosphere is always great, and the staff, especially Ivy, really make the experience unforgettable. Ivy is an excellent server—super friendly and attentive. We love coming here for both weekend dinners and the delicious Sunday brunch, and we seem to catch her working every time. Great vibes, amazing people, and fantastic food. Highly recommend!

Is there 4.5 stars? Food and drink were awesome. I had the Cubano and the Island Mudslide drink. Both were excellent! Service cheerful, but spotty. Atmosphere weird with a super loud Bachelorette party in the bar.

Fish tacos were delicious. Broasted chicken was as well.
Only downside was they were out of coleslaw that normally comes with the meals so they substituted more fries. Would’ve been nice if they had come and asked if we’d like a salad instead. It ended up being a very large amount of fries and we would have preferred something on the lighter side.
But all in all it was good.

This was a great place to eat. We were self-seated immediately, food was amazing, service was great, plus there was live music. The view of the lake and the good weather made it a perfect dinner location!

If you are looking for a great place to eat and hang out listening to music –Beach Bums is your place. Jordan the owner does a great job with Beach Bums-always alot of people there who love the place. Tommy the bar manager will always meet you with a smile–will treat you like you are the most special person there and truely cares about his job and the people. As far as servers –Beach Bums has the best in the upper midwest.If you are lucky enough to get Vivian, Isaac, Amanda, Ivy, Nate, Avery, Andi or any other of the servers and runners– you have had one of the best!!!
