Found this place recently when I was in the area and happened to be hungry. Great staff and were friendly when entering. There is a really good selection of sandwiches and I went with Michael’s Choice since it was my first time here and clearly this Michael person already has their name on the sign. Definitely worth it and I will be back to try many more of their signature sandwiches.
Biggest issues are parking so it would be best to find parking and walk there. It is perfect if you are walking by already though. Minimal indoor seating so 1 or 2 people together is fine but 4 or more is not easy.
I plan to go back again soon and would definitely recommend checking it out if you have not yet done so.

I really liked this place. I ordered a whole brisket sandwich and it didn’t disappoint. The flavors were on point, nice and juicy, and all round very very good. The only reason I’m not giving it a five stars, is because I’ve been to some places where the portions were much larger for the price. Although, this would not prevent me from coming back again.
The atmosphere is no frills, with limited seating. Paid parking is available in the neighborhood, though not a lot of spots.

Michael’s Deli wasn’t my first visit, but every time I come here I think the same thing: the quality here is not a coincidence, it’s a standard. Everything I’ve eaten has been fresh, well-balanced, and clearly prepared with care. No matter what I order, there’s never a moment of “it’s okay.” The flavors are clean, the ingredients are high quality, and the portions are satisfying.
But what really makes the place stand out isn’t just the food — it’s the people. The staff is incredibly attentive, fast, and genuinely kind. It doesn’t feel forced or scripted; you can tell they actually care. Even when it’s busy, no one looks annoyed, everything runs smoothly, and you feel more like a regular than just another customer.
The atmosphere is another big plus. It’s clean, organized, comfortable, and at the same time full of life. Whether you want to sit down and enjoy your meal or just grab something quickly, it always feels good being there. In terms of value for money, it’s also above Boston standards — you really get what you pay for.
In short: it’s rare to find a place where food, service, and atmosphere are all this consistent at the same time. That’s why I can honestly say Michael’s Deli is no longer just a place to “try once,” but a spot I go to on purpose. I recommend it without hesitation. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Small neighborhood deli, and one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Stayed in the Brookline area, walked to this deli for the sandwich, and ordered the Thorty Black and Gold because it looked interesting. Pastrami, cheddar, hots, and honey mustard on a fresh roll. This sandwich did not disappoint – the pastrami literally melts in your mouth. The bread was so soft with a crispy outside crust. All the flavors really worked nicely together in perfect balance. You can tell from the first bite of this sandwich that this place puts a ton of love and care into every menu item. I want one of their “Body By Corned Beef” t-shirts. Highly recommend this spot.

i am and will always be loyal to the ken jaffe, but it was cold today so i wanted soup. i was walking by and saw they’re trying a new veggie recipe. It was so good! i’ve had their chicken soup too, which i also love. they do a half sandwich soup combo maybe I’ll do that next time although the ken jaffe is too good to only eat half. and best pickles ever!!

Amazing Jewish deli right where you need it to be. They make a banging rueben here that you can’t not have your first time. Will be back for more 100%

I hadn’t been inside because of covid, but you can now go inside, order, and eat. I also see a lot of reviews about them only accepting limited payment. They now have a normal cash register and accept credit cards.

The “thorty black and gold” is so ridiculously good – I could eat that sandwich every single day.
My girlfriend and I love to come here for a bite before the movies and it’s always a treat.

Corn beef and pastrami was good and the sandwich had plenty of meat. However, pricy for the amount. A bit crowded and tight in the front. Staff were fine but could have been more helpful with ordering as it was my first time there. Worth a stop, in if you’re in the area(Coolidge Corner).

Well deserved 5 stars.
White fish- to die for.
Pickles- the same.
And super creative knishes, filled with mashed potatoes, kasha (buckwheat), or other savory meat and pastrami fillings. The owner is making every week another surprised and crazy knish. Also some desert knishes.
Stand in line as this is the definition of paradise.
But- take the food out. The place itself is not welcoming to seat and eat. Nor is the music.
