Not related to Trejos Tacos.
This is so far the best mexican food restaurant in Huntington Beach.
When I eat here it reminds me of living across the border. In all the best ways.
Don’t be afraid to give this excellent eatery a shot.
If nothing else come in and grab a chorizo or steak and egg breakfast burrito or potato taco.

Ordered two tacos to try out, the restaurant itself is in need of cleaning, the tacos where $5 and change each which is high upfront but the tacos are large not the street style size. The proteins where both heavily seasoned not to my style I couldn’t really enjoy the overall chicken and beef flavor it was very intrusive the salsas I did try where all good and a decent level of spice, not the best not the worst.

I stopped by this morning and ordered a steak and egg burrito. When I got home the food was still warm, which I appreciated. However, halfway through the burrito I realized I hadn’t had a single bite of steak. By the time I was about three-quarters finished, I opened it up thinking maybe all the steak was on one side, but there was none at all.
This unfortunately isn’t the first time this has happened here. The food itself is great, but getting the order correct and making sure customers receive what they paid for needs a bit more attention.

Trejo’s Tacos offers an amazing casual dining experience with flavorful tacos and the best Jamaica I’ve ever had. The outdoor seating allowed me to enjoy my meal with a cool breeze, making the experience even more enjoyable.
The tacos were packed with flavor, and each bite was a delight(non greasy healthy). The highlight of the meal was definitely the homemade salsa on the side, which was authentically spicy and added the perfect kick to the tacos. Today I just tried a new salsa they made which is out of this world amazing.
Overall, Trejo’s Tacos is a fantastic spot for a casual and delicious meal. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy authentic and flavorful Mexican food.
Today I tried the street tacos that are only $2 each.

I regularly hit local places for Tuesday tacos. I have been going to Hole Mole for a bit and Tacos De Anda. both are different and good in their own right. TODAY I went back to Trejos. I forgot HOW good they are. I have the carnitas and A:L Pastor . they were great on their own BUT their Salsas! OMG! ( I never say that) BUT they are good not for the fainthearted but tasty.

Got my Christmas food yesterday…just enjoying traditional tamales for breakfast with Trejo’s great selection of freshly made salsas. Looking forward to splitting the delicious Chile Verde burrito and kicking back for the holidays. I might have to go back over the weekend when I think the have a fantastic Lamb dish. I’ve had it before and it’s the bomb!!! Will call ahead to make sure they have it… I travel over 20 miles each way for their authentic Mexican fare… always worth it!

So, would have gotten around 4.3 stars, but the way the sauce container opened up in the bag and made a mess of everything reduced my overall opinion of this place. Maybe not fair, but at least I am telling you why. Food is decent, not great. Price is a bit high for what it is and what you are getting. They have dollar tacos one day a week, but no telling what those look like that one day. Sauce is meh (like had it been good sauce all over my food, not so bad) Not a whole lot of parking, a pain to get to if approaching from the north. Entrance is accessible. May not visit again, for the price and satisfaction would have been better off with Del Taco.

Excellent food and service! The ribs in green sauce was fantastic and served with great tasting beans. The pastor taco was delicious too.

Wanted some Mexican food and wanted to try new places I’ve never been before. Came upon this little place on beach boulevard, and it’s literally one of those places where if you blink, you’ll completely miss it.
Now, I don’t think this store has any relations to Danny Trejo and his taco chain restaurant, but I think it was still pretty good when it came to the food taste wise. However, $5+ for a singular taco is a little much in my opinion, so I may be back for street tacos, which are $1.50 on Fridays and Saturdays. Disappointed with the taco prices, I ended up with a birria burrito, which was hot, and fresh with all the right ingredients and the meat was super tender.
The place is pretty close to authentic, though the choice to sell birria ramen is a little bit questionable.
Other than that, we had some pretty good service and the place is really nice and clean.

The location is good parking was easy tables and chairs available for dine in and tables chairs outside for outdoor dinning. It’s not fancy. The fresh watermelon juice was Devine the prices were fair service was a little slow. The Restrurant could use a little more cleaning up there were a lot of dirty tables so maybe they are short staffed. I had fish taco plate $13 a little pricey for self serve. I normally like Baja style but it was good the beans and rice though were not eatable they were old and tasted bad. My husband had the Carnitas torta he said it was good your normal torta sandwich he also really liked the bagged Carrots they serve with your meal. I will come back again
