We finally decided to try this place and I would say it was just ok food. I got chicken fried chicken which was ok, a little greasy. Mac and cheese they say is homemade but it’s very similar to KFCs mac, not much flavor. We got the 3 combo appetizer with fried mushrooms, jalapeño, and mozzarella sticks, that was just “ok.” For 2 mixed drinks, the $13.99 appetizer, and 2 orders chicken fried chicken/steak, the total with tip came out to be around $80, which I felt was a little overpriced. The atmosphere was neat, it’s a big restaurant in a cool building. The music was pretty awful, it was like “country pop” which was pretty annoying. I would give it another shot next time and try a burger or something.

I am from Indiana and stopped in for dinner and ice cream on my last night here and let me tell you the young lady that helped us (sorry I can’t remember her name) was an absolute sweetheart and was so helpful . My boyfriend and I both got the cowboy steak mine without mushrooms. That was delicious along with the Greenbeans made just like grandma use to make them, mashed potoes, and fried okra, it was all so good. Next time I come to visit I will definitely be stopping back in. It was fun watching the younger ones that worked there getting all excited about setting out the Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving

Charlie’s ambience is fun. Rustic, with tin signs for products that spark memories of a time before. The waitstaff was great, and courteous. I ordered the beer battered fish and chips. I was impressed by the sheer amount of food that arrived. Upon first blush the meal looked amazing! I cut open the fish, and took a big bite. It was… Gross… Just seemed off. I pulled the fish from the fried covering, and ate it. It was… ok… willing to give it another chance, I tried the other fish portion. This time I cut it open. To my surprise, and disgust, the entire inside was uncooked beer batter. It smelled strongly of beer, because the alcohol was not burned off, being raw, and all. I called the wait person over, and showed her. I declined another portion. She offered to get the manager. I thanked her. After some time, she went to the register and processed a discount of 35%. I did not see a manager, and the wait person, apparently had taken my complaint personally, due to the attitude that she was now displaying. I won’t go back. If ordering to go, definitely check that your order is made correctly. Was so hungry that I didn’t realize something is missing on my burger until after eating a good portion of it. Not a drop of guacamole on this thing.

The place is super neat, the staff are amazing, but unfortunately the food is sub par. I was shocked no burgers on the lunch menu. I was craving a great burger for lunch and got the Charlie’s classic. Bun was stale and hard, meat was extremely dry with no flavor. I asked for handcut fries, but it was the awful semi breaded fries from a freezer bag. I had hoping for better. This cost 14.04 with water.

We loved this place. The atmosphere is wonderful and family-friendly. The staff is super nice. We were able to get right in. The food was delicious, and was perfect temperature. Afterward, we had to try one of the Blue bell ice cream selections and took home a Dutch chocolate meringue pie that was homemade! We will definitely be back

Went to visit a friend in Farmersville for the first time. Had a late lunch here,not super busy, which was nice. Hostess immediately greeted us. Alex was our waiter. Don’t ever judge a book by its cover. He was AMAZING!!!!!!

The atmosphere was very nice, service was quick. However they did not put in our whole order so we missed out on our potato boats. They offered to make them for us, but our plates had already arrived and did not want to wait on them. The chicken fried steak was burnt on one side. The Charlie’s ham sandwich was good. I was hoping for everything to be better, I would understand if they were really busy, when we went there it was not crowded at all. Maybe I will try it again another night.

The food was “ok” but I felt like they are taking advantage of the current beef prices by price gouging. Charging nearly $10 for a quarter pound Jr burger (no cheese) is the equivalent of charging nearly $40 per pound for some of the nastiest beef on the planet that is full of nothing but saturated fats. We have been doing business with Charlie’s for years, but my wife and I agreed that we are done. Charlie’s can do better.
Furthermore, we were surprised to find a credit card fee that no one made us aware of. We have NEVER paid a credit card fee before, so we were not expecting one when we put our card on the table. I understand if you’re going to charge a fee. But I think you should at least make it known. I didn’t see a statement on the door or menu. If it was there, it was hidden pretty good. Credit card fees have ALWAYS been been a cost of doing business. So passings your fees onto the customers is pretty shady…

When we me and my two kids walked in. We were impressed with the culture and vibe here.
We ordered our meal. I purchased the chicken fried chicken, my two kids ordered the jalapeño burger, chili cheese burger and we got the fried mushrooms as our appetizer.
Let me tell. We were IMPRESSED! From the badder to the taste of the chicken fried chicken, the fried mushrooms, their ranch dipping for the appetizer, their Jalapeños Burger was great, their chili cheese burger was great, their French fries were perfect.
To top it off, our waitress was wonderful. It’s rare that I give 5-stars, but this place deserves all 5-stars. EVERY. SINGLE. ITEM. Was delicious. From the smell, taste, presentation and service. I’ll definitely be back.
