My girlfriend and I came to the Pocono area for a weekend ski trip and decided to try a Polish restaurant nearby, as she is Polish. The place was wonderful with a great atmosphere. We loved everything about it. I especially enjoy fireplaces—while I prefer real wood, the electric one was still very cozy and added to the charm.

Our waitress was incredibly friendly. There was also a gentleman we believe to be one of the owners sitting with a group; he was very kind and even turned the TV so we could watch the Winter Olympics that were streaming at the time.

It was a beautiful experience overall, and we highly recommend this place.

Babuni’s Table is the kind of small, unassuming restaurant you could drive right past if you weren’t paying attention—but if you’re lucky enough to find this hidden treasure, you’re stepping into another world. The moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by the warmth of rustic wood-paneled walls, lantern-lit corners, and shelves lined with Polish treats—just like the cozy shops filled with imported chocolates, teas, and preserves. Babuni’s Table is more than a restaurant, it’s a love letter to Polish tradition.

Over the course of a weekend, I found myself returning more than once, each meal blowing my mind and pulling me back for more. The lemon chicken with noodles was rich yet bright, the cucumber salad crisp and refreshing, and the goulash over a golden potato pancake was slow-cooked perfection—deep, hearty, and packed with flavor. What makes this place even more special? It’s BYOB, vegetarian-friendly, and great for those watching their sugar intake. The menu offers plenty of low-sugar options that never feel like a compromise—everything is so flavorful, you’d never know it was designed with dietary needs in mind.

Whether you have Polish heritage or not, Babuni’s Table is an experience worth having. It’s the kind of food that feels like home, even if it’s not your home. And for me, it stirred something deeper—a longing for my Polish roots that made each bite more than just a meal. It was a connection, a memory, and an absolute must-visit.

I LOVE the food at Babuni’s Table! I strongly suggest that you reserve a table at least a week or two beforehand, as they have limited tables – I have seen people leave at dinner time, after being told that the wait time is about 2 hours, as all the tables have been spoken for. Almost all their food is made from scratch, so the wait time is longer than a normal restaurant, but you can taste the freshness of the food. My friends and I always order a variety of dishes and the items are brought out as the food is ready, so we don’t have to wait a long time before we can fill our tummies, as the other dishes are still being prepared.

The dishes that I have tried has been wonderful. I have tried potato pancakes from many places and Babuni’s is the best – I eat it plain, so I can taste it without apple sauce or sour cream covering the taste of it. Another favorite is Hunter’s Stew – the portion size is big and very filling, and I love my sauerkraut . I really like all the different varieties of pierogies, and I believe they make it themselves, so it definitely taste better than store-bought ones. The stuffed cabbage was another good one.

I’ve been to Babuni’s table a few times and it’s always great. The owner took the time to let me and my sister try a Borscht soup he had just finished, making us feel like part of the family. Everything I’ve eaten here has been delicious, freshly prepared, and well presented. It’s obvious the chef/ owner cares about what he’s making and serving to his customers.

I had not had stuffed cabbage probably since before my mother passed away back in 2005. I had almost forgotten how much I liked it. Being a very competent home chef, I still never tried making it myself, and I don’t need to, because I don’t think I could do better. IMO it’s amazing.

If you enjoy great food and a nice atmosphere this is a great place to eat. While the dining room is small, it is comfortable, clean and almost feels like a family gathering. I’d probably suggest making a reservation on weekends, or probably most days around dinner time.

Pickle soup and pierogis were authentic and delicious.
Very cute interior of the restaurant. Good service from our waiter, Jonathan. Darius, the head chef and owner greeted and welcomed us and was very nice to speak with. Yummy dessert as well. Excellent.

Good Polish cuisine.
We stopped in for lunch. The hours are somewhat confusing since there are two different signs one of the door one in the window. Have they differ in the opening hours. We arrive just as soon as they opened. From what we could discern, one of the owners is no longer there, and a relative was managing it .

We ordered a number of items as shown in the pictures. The highlight were the pyzy, I believe on the menu they call them Polish dumplings with meat. They appeared to be made freshly and had good flavor. A serving consisted of four. Two were already eaten by the time of the picture.

The pierogies with meat, also shown , we’re good, but to be honest average. The meat was dry and then may have been because they were lean. But they also could’ve been seasoned better.

The kielbasa and sauerkraut sandwich was good, but the kielbasa itself was nothing to write home about.

A bit expensive, and a dozen pierogies will set you back over $18. The menu on the website is not current and the prices have changed. The pictures on the Google maps reviews appear to be current.

There is a paucity of polish restaurants in the area. Most that show up in searches are delis that serve sandwiches or additional foods. This is your best option for a sit down restaurant.

Being a vegetarian I didn’t plan on eating anything at this Polish restaurant but I did step in to see how beautiful the decor was and I picked up a few bottles of some Polish juices and drinks for my kids. Just for the record my daughter loved the kiwi watermelon drink.

If this food suits you then consider having a small meal in their quaint little dining area which is a blast from the past.

Best Pierogies ever! This is an amazing scratch Kitchen. The food is out of this world. I don’t know why there isn’t a line out the door and all the way down to Philadelphia. Take a group and enjoy some awesome people and amazing food. There is also a bakery in the front with homemade breads and pastries. 5 stars isn’t enough! I can’t wait to go again. Cheers from Texas!
