Nothing ugly about the flavor! Great noodles. Soup dumplings and hot chili oil. Easy to go wild here. Also easy to under order and leave hungry.
Don’t forget to get boba in your tea. At 30-50 sweetness it comes across as bland and without boba or anything it isn’t anything more than dirty water. The waitress did fix this with a boba included boba tea. Bottom line is that the food is terrific, the service great, and it takes time to learn the menu.

This was a tough call 4 vs 5.

The table service and the customer service in general is outstanding and they are always smiling and happy to help. I shared this was my first ever experience here and I got a thorough explanation of the top items in the menu.

I ordered a soup dumpling sampler- what better way to find the right variety for you. They were very tasty and fun to eat. The sauce blending I had to do before eating was also a fun step.

The best part of this meal, without a doubt is the cream cheese Rangoon. Oh wow. I tend to order those everywhere. I go where they are on the menu and I always find them to be tasty wherever I go, but the corners and the edges and the hard parts that sometimes are there can get in the way of enjoying it. Here, at Ugly Dumpling the cream cheese Rangoons were crisp and light and full of filling and amazing.

They were cooked perfectly. I almost gave a fifth star just because of that one dish.

But, alas, I could only give four stars and the reason for that is because lunch with a cup of hot tea, Crab Rangoon‘s and the dumpling sampler was over $30. That’s too steep to come back for lunch more than once in a while. And that unfortunately took it down in my estimation by one notch.

But thanks for the experience.

I loved this little place! Our server was Heysen, and he was very patient with us. He gave us plenty of helpful information about the menu and recommended the delicious fried pork chops for the appetizer! They were sooo good and perfectly crispy! All the food was amazing and our orders came quickly. We did not have to wait. Special thanks to our server because he took his time with us in explaining the menu, and I really appreciated that I didn’t feel rushed, especially because I was new to the spot and was unfamiliar with the food. Thank you for a great first visit!

Clean location. Friendly staff. Lots of parking and seating. Boba tea was the best I’ve had! Food was so delicious. I highly recommend. Only downside was that they didn’t have the cream cheese rangoon and ugly dumpling sampler.

I was on the way to the Va location when we discovered that there was one a little closer to where we were. Anyway walked in loved the decor. It was really cute; clean restroom. The menu was easy to ready and accurate in its distributions. Service was mediocre but I’m giving them grace because we arrived when they opened. The food was a little slow coming out the kitchen and we had to remind the waiter of missed things a few times. The food was pretty basic but good. I’m not sure if the dumplings are made in house; I would bet they are not. It’s a great place to go for some quick eats. Overall we liked it. 6/10 recommendation.

Erica waited on us and she was amazing! Her recommendations were spot on! She was super friendly and quick. Try the fried pork chop appetizer, trust me! We also loved the sesame noodles, orange chicken w/ white rice, pork soup dumplings – pour some vinegar on the soup dumplings! Our son had the lava cookie. Everything was delicious. Will be back to try more menu items.

We tried Ugly Dumpling in Latham and had a great experience overall. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was very enjoyable. I ordered the black pepper beef with fried rice, and my husband chose the pork chop fried rice—he absolutely loved it and said the pork chop was amazing. Portions are extremely generous; I was barely able to finish my main course because I got full so quickly.

We also tried the calamari, pork buns, and pork & shrimp shumai, and everything was flavorful and satisfying. We’re really happy to have a spot like this closer to home, and it’s definitely a place we’d return to when we’re craving dumplings and comfort food.

This place is pretty cool, today was my first time eating here and the atmosphere was nice the service was great. I had a great waiter named Markee, he did a phenomenal job in knowing the menu, knowing the foods and what it taste like. He did a great job selling me and everything. Come out and try it for yourself

I wanted to like this spot, a new Asian concept in the Bowie/PG area but there is so much weird things about this spot. Staff act like they’ve never served tables, staff eating and drinking in the kitchen. Mind you, the kitchen has a large 10 foot window with a great view of the kitchen. Frozen dumplings served at a price I would expect fresh but the food is good and portions are decent. Don’t go in expecting $12 dumplings like in a sit down restaurant instead served like a to go spot with table service.

My initial visit was November 18th and we had the pleasure of being served by Markeese. They had only been open for about 11 days or so but we were thoroughly impressed. I enjoyed everything I ordered (rangoons, soup dumpling sampler, and Mongolian beef). Since my initial visit, the next time I went I also had the shredded beef with shishito peppers (spicy and savory) and fried chicken dumplings. They’re still working out the kinks but it’s a solid spot. Very cozy and inviting. They also have lunch specials Monday-Friday 11am-4pm.
