By far some of the best tacos I have had! The tortillas were handmade, the portions were way more than I expected! Which is always a plus, the papa asada was huge and full of bistec! All in all very surprised with the generous portions and the taste was perfect!

Visited for the first time after being recommended this place for years by my friend. It’s a no frills, hole in the wall taqueria run by lovely tias. Think DIY construction office trailer with a kitchen side operation. As you approach, the smell of chargrilled meat intoxicates your senses. Aesthetic is nonexistent, and that’s okay, because the food is what matters to the bellies of every visiting patron. Not looks, not vibes, just that you leave full.

The menu is simple. Tacos, dressed papas/potatoes, burgers, and a few other taqueria essentials. I tried the mixed bistek and mollejas tacos on corn tortillas. The tortillas are large and pillowy but not the softest I’ve sunken my teeth into. For those unfamiliar, mollejas, also known as sweetbreads, is a type of organ meat. Specifically, the thymus and/or pancreas glands. It is slightly gamey, which when blended with bistek is nearly unnoticeable. It was an interesting combination of texture and flavor but more charred than I typically prefer. To balance the depth of the meat and charred-ness, I wish it were topped with fresh vegetables like minced onions and cilantro. Would I try this combination again, yes. From Vulcan, no. However, I am happy to have tried it for the first time. The restaurant was packed, and rightfully so. There is enough variety for all types of palettes but my heart is elsewhere when it comes to tacos.

I found this taco place near my home in Edinburg!! I was so excited to try it & so glad I did. We had such a sweet server, a young man. He was kind and took care of us & deserved his 15% tip I’m glad I gave him. It’s a humble place, hole on the wall, in a remote location, but that’s what makes it special. You feel like you’re in a whole different country. It’s a little Mexico where you’ll find a corn and snow cone shop in front and just a few minutes near by, find a man roasting corns. I loved the whole experience and recommend it to anyone traveling to the valley. You won’t regret it. The service is a 5 as I mentioned. The atmosphere is good, just a little hole on the wall with a few tables, maybe six. The food is very delicious. The beans are a five!! I just loved the taste of those beans. I love beans a la charra, so they are my weakness!! I also love pico de Gallo with chips, so I’ll be coming very, very often as my weakness has always been tacos. Their corn tortillas are excellent, fresh and non-greasy!!! Their burritos are so yummy and flour tortillas taste great! Their meat, however, needs more of that smoked flavored taste I didn’t get. But it’s nicely chopped. I love that they take the time to chop it into fine pieces. That’s so good of them. I tried the Bistek steak which wasn’t very flavorful but good. Maybe next time I’ll try the Molleja which is another cut of meat they offer. They also have all the drink options you can imagine. I loved that. The green salsa was good but not great. The red one was good but not great! I liked them but could have loved them. The reason I would give them a three out of five even though I’m going to keep coming back to enjoy their delicious beans is because the potato tasted like water. It was almost as if they grilled them but then took them to water to finish or vice-a-versa. I’ve never had a potato that was grilled taste like water and without that smoky flavor that makes them so good. Their beef needed more of the same smoky flavor and seasoning. Also, their salsas could step it up, too. I think I’m a big salsa person, and so i give them a three for room to grow. Maybe next time I come, they will be a five, and I can make adjustments. I would definitely visit this hole on the wall. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Best Tacos estilo Nuevo Leon..Bist3c cook on the grill over mesquite charcoal. You can hear the chopping from inside the kitchen. Tacos have lots of flavor and meat in them.

Good tacos! The parking lot needs some serious help, its sketchy looking, needs better lighting, and the parking is super bad. Also, the inside needs some updating, but the food is good!

This place really does NOT hold back on the meat! Their tacos are quite large and are very Loaded. I ordered the Mix (bistec/mollejas/sausage) and it was very very tasty. The meat was a little crispy and flavorful. The meat was diced very small and I really enjoyed this. The tortillas were both good and bad because I liked that they were not drenched in oil and super greasy but they were a little dry. The tortillas held up well though, considering all the meat they have inside. I also had a synchronizada (bistec) and it looked like it was a little weak on the meat but after getting into it, I found it was deeper on the inside and pretty tasty. The beans were tasty and I enjoyed the juice they had. My only real gripe with the food was that the salsas were not as tasty as I would like. The red salsa was not bad but I really didnt enjoy the green much (tomatillo style). I wish they had more of a creamy avocado style hot sauce. Anyhow, I will definitely be going back soon and whenever I have a large appetite!

A small taqueria that had delicious food. You sit where you want, and a server then attends you. It was 40 bucks for two combos with avocado and mozzerella cheese and a slice of tres leches cake. They charged four dollars for the avocado and four dollars for the cheese on the tacos, which was almost as much as the combo itself so I wouldn’t recommend getting extras on your tacos.

The wife and I are back it on vacation to Texas and on our search for the best tacos we came across this spot it was highly recommended especially being a local spot that had good tacos and tex mex food we got tacos de Al pastor and bistec some on tortillas de harina and others on tortilla de maíz both with cilantro and cebolla in all honesty the bistec was under seasoned and had a lot of fatty pieces as stated before the wife and I are really picky when it comes to our meat the Al pastor we did not get a chance to try unfortunately due to an emergency we had to go and it wash it all down un Joya de manzana we really wish we wouldve loved the spot more

Visiting from Dallas-Fort Worth and customer of mine took me to this place. Upon arrival my customer told me please be advise the place is nothing fancy. My reply was the best taco spots are usually very layback.
Got into the restaurant server was very friendly, and helpful. We started by having a house beans loaded with cheese and asada.
Beans tasted like my grandma cook them in her home. I gave them a five stars!

I ordered a 5 taco plate with a loaded potato and a Fresca! Wow this place is amazing, the asada meat was cooked in a real bbq pit. Yellow corn tortillas tasted like a real Mexican tortilla.

If you craving a real Mexican taco and you are in the area give them a try! You won’t be disappointed.
