We feel that Bar-B-Q should never be eaten alone, always with friends and family. It’s our goal at the Smok’n Pig to be that gathering place with a southern tradition and old time Bar-B-Q, freshly prepared country cookin just like Granny and Papa used to do back in the day. So relax, sit back and enjoy.
Casual BBQ eats & a noted brisket sandwich served in a cavernous rustic space with high ceilings.

First off, Mac n Cheese was great. I couldn’t get enough of it. B) The pork was very good. Great bark and flavors. Third, the original BBQ sauce was on point. I even bought a bottle of it. And finally, overall I loved it. But… the south has always been way better at pork than brisket, so I’d skip the beef. And the slaw, while creamy, wasn’t my favorite. And top 10 in the country might be a stretch, but I’d go top 50 for sure.

AMAZING from the salad bar to dessert bar for an additional dollar. The cheese curds are plain in a good way just fried cheese with great flavor ,fried pickles slices is enough for 4 atleast. I ordered the 2 meat with brisket and smoked sausage the sausage was amazing and the brisket was good. Our server was so sweet and helped with the menu as it was our first time in. The restaurant was very clean and huge with an easy to parking lot to get in and out of.

We celebrated my brother Robbin’s birthday here while he and his wife were in town from Washington State, and it was absolutely perfect! They gave us access to a conference room for our group of 25, which made it so comfortable and enjoyable for everyone.
The waitress was fantastic — attentive, friendly, and handled our large group so well, even though the restaurant was super busy. The food was phenomenal — hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious.
Clean, friendly atmosphere and overall a great restaurant. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it!

While traveling down to Florida we decided to give a BBQ restaurant a try. So, I popped open Google Maps and searched for BBQ Restaurants near me. Off we went a couple of exits down the highway. The restaurant was a little over a mile off the highway. The short detour was worth it because the food was good. We ordered a couple of pulled pork combos that came with 2 sides and tried 4 different which were pretty tasty. The only thing that we agreed on was that the greens were a tiny bit salty for our taste. Everything else was pretty spot on. The service was great and we were checked on plenty of times. Overall we enjoyed this BBQ restaurant and it was a great place to stretch our legs on a long trip.

I hate to be negative, but I want to give an honest review. We did not have any of the pork or ribs, so I can’t review on that.
Pros: The tea was really good. The salad bar was nice, fresh and well stocked. A good price at only $3 to add to your meal. The atmosphere was upbeat and inviting.
Cons: The burnt ends did not look or taste like brisket. I usually don’t eat brisket because it holds too much of a smokey flavor, but this had none. Maybe it was the pecan wood they used, because I’m used to using hickory or mesquite. The brisket itself only came sliced and not chopped and was half fat. My hubby loves chopped brisket but did not care for theirs or the burnt ends. The baked beans tasted like they were from a can. All of the bbq sauces were sweet based. Even the Carolina was more sweet then vinegary or mustard. The fried okra was too tuff to eat and my smoked chicken was so dry I needed tt take a drink just to swallow the breast.

Quintessential southern BBQ! The atmosphere & the food are spot on. Food is tasty, service is friendly and fast, restaurant is clean and fresh and close to interstate 75. I’ve come here many times passing through Valdosta on the way to Florida, and it’s been a great experience every time. The collards/cornbread are excellent. BBQ and burnt ends are delicious.

So glad we discovered this awesome BBQ place on a visit to Valdosta. Having lived in Texas and near Kansas City, I know good BBQ and this restaurant has it down! I enjoyed the St. Louis ribs with a side of cole slaw and Texas toast. The ribs were meaty and tender. My wife had a pulled pork sandwich with baked potato and Brunswick stew. The pulled pork was lean but a little dry, although the sauce made it tasty. The Brunswick stew was excellent! Our waitness was attentive and lunch prices were great. Atmosphere is patriotic and perfect for families.

If you’re in Valdosta and want a great, convenient BBQ stop, with big portions and a comfortable sit-down environment, Smok’n Pig is a good choice. My husband had the St Louis ribs and I had a burger and both were really good. Steff D was so very nice. We didn’t have time to so on the gift area but there’s lots of sauces, t-shirts, and spices to take home with you.
