Excellent food, zaap taste, metal tables, backless stools (outside) and super flavour all contributed to an excellent experience. We had prawn ceviche (goong chae nam pla equivalent), crispy pork pik pao, Rad Na and Krapao Beef (to name a few). The service was great (Will was brilliant). The dishes are expensive (portion size similar to Thailand), but if sharing it’s great value!

Absolutely delicious!!! I had the chicken skins which were so crispy, spicy and arrived at the table super quickly!! For mains I shared beef with wide rice noodles and their chive cake special. Both were amazing! Lovely soft bits of beef with biiiiiig noodles?? Incredible. I definitely recommend the Thai coffee also!! Atmosphere is amazing and feels so chilled out, and we had the loveliest server ever! He was so helpful and have really good recommendations.

Authentic, and I meant authentic Thai food, as close as you are gonna get in the west.
Menu item names are written in mostly Thai…Nice!
Chicken skin was very interestingly delicious. It was not thin and crispy, but thicc and crunchy, not what I was expecting, but delicious. Pork and prawn rolls was my favorite. Freshly fried, with a delicious filling with unique textures, paired perfectly with the sweet sauce.
I got the Prawn Curry, came with three large prawns, and you must get rice with it. The rice perfectly soaked up every last bit of the curry, which was packed with flavor with a nice coconut milk freshness.
Cha Som Jeed was an interesting drink. Thai iced tea without the milk, but with lemons and calamansi. The unique calamansi flavor was so nice. Somehow, the tea still tasted ‘creamy’ without any milk or cream in it, like cream soda almost. Very good.

Everything was delicious and well-seasoned. We had the crispy chicken green mango salad (soft with a citrusy kick), neam fried rice (aromatic and flavourful), and crispy pork and pepper curry (spicy level 8/10, balanced by coconut). If you can’t book, there might be space outside. If you sit out you need to go in to order but they will bring the food out. Overall 9/10.

Fab little spot. I think it is probably impossible to order poorly here. The service is great, the atmosphere is quite inviting and chill, and the food is phenomenal and surprising. We got the chicken and mango (lovely and bright), the noodles with pork and mushrooms (complex and delicious), and the pork and pepper curry (an absolute must-order). Would highly recommend!!

This place is presented as a Thai restaurant, but in reality it feels more like an overpriced bar that happens to serve food.
The portions are extremely small — genuinely dollhouse-sized. For the prices charged, the serving sizes are simply unacceptable. Even with excellent food, this would be poor value, but the overall quality does not come close to justifying the cost.
On top of already inflated prices, a 15% service charge is added, which feels unjustified given the experience. Service was not exceptional, and certainly not at a level that warrants a mandatory surcharge. It comes across as a way to quietly push prices even higher rather than reward good service.
Both food and drinks are excessively overpriced, and when combined with the service charge, the final bill feels disconnected from what you actually receive.
If you are looking for proper Thai food or fair value for money, this is not the place. Expect high prices, tiny portions, an added service fee, and an overall disappointing experience.

The food was delicious, I read online that the portions were small but if anyone has been to Thailand they would know the dishes are pretty much similar size and that to get to full experience you must order at least 5/6 items. Really good and prompt service, I had an Indian man serving us (don’t know his name had a mix black/grey beard) very good waiter and polite, very reasonable prices considering the standard a lot of credit to your chefs .. would love to try your Nottinghill branch. Good stuff guys .. you made my girlfriends birthday memorable

Really liked the chicken skin, crispy pork was not so crispy after marinating in the curry, but still good. My biggest complaint is the prices. Plus the inside is very crowded. They also just left me standing outside and walked past me serving customers on the patio when I didn’t realise you had to go in to ask for a table.

If you’re looking for a standard and familiar pad thai, keep looking. Speedboat bar is not your regular Thai restaurant in a brilliant way. It’s a funky Thai diner-style spot. It has personality from the interior to the menu design and their dishes are interesting and flavourful, with items which are not on your standard Thai menu.
Starters: You have to get the sweetcorn fritters! The morning glory was pretty standard, overpriced for what it is. Avg £10 per starter
Main: For the veggies – I had the vegan ‘exploded tofu, taro & shimeji’ – it is VERY spicy, and that’s coming from a girl raised on biryanis littered with whole chilli peppers garnished with hot sauce. It was good but physically couldn’t finish it because of the heat that unfortunately overpowered the flavours. Order it with less heat.
It is a little pricey considering portion sizes – but this is standard for the area. You’ll pay £20-30 for your main (assuming you’re getting rice for an extra £4 with your main).
They were helpful with allergens. Meat is not halal. They have a vegetarian menu but it’s not massively extensive. They also have set menus. Service isn’t that friendly. It’s not a massive restaurant so would try and visit at off-peak hours or book.
I’d love to visit again and try more of the menu.
