Lovely little place in an old mill building. The staff is friendly, sushi is very fresh, and deals are amazing. The buy one get one free sushi is an incredible deal. Highly recommended.

Been here too many times to count. We absolutely love this place. Food is affordable with buy one get one free sushi. Never had a bad experience. Hours are kind of different. Can be super crowded. Make reservations. Food is amazing

café Sato in Chestertown is hidden away in the Radcliffe Mill, which is a historic building. Decor is industrial, including seeing the old shoots that the milk, corn and mill wheat came down from the grindstone.
But weed and corn are not on the menu. Awesome sushi and excellent noodle dishes in the Japanese and Thai genres are available instead.
Service was very professional, friendly, and prompt. Our server Natalie kept us well supplied with ice water and iced tea because it was a very hot day.
The food was excellent and tastefully prepared. Portions were just right for our quick lunch.
The music was eclectic, New Age piano jazz. But you are a musical experience may vary depending on who is controlling the sound system.
The interior seating is a combination of booths and tables. There is also outdoor seating available for nicer weather.
overall, I highly recommend this restaurant.

One of the best, if not the, spots in Chestertown. Dim lights, friendly laid back vibes, low volumes, nice staff and solid sushi. We usually mix it up with a variety of rolls and get a pad thai dish. Not once were we disappointed in many visits so the consistency is high, which is what it’s all about.

This place has gone down hill tremendously. I am a very picky sushi eater, so when I finally found a roll I enjoy I was thrilled and kept coming back. I usually get take out. Last night my relative was next door at the brewery and offered to bring me some sushi. I said yes, but wasn’t hopeful. They forgot the aioli which is really important to properly enjoy the Harmony roll. I will not be returning.

The food was absolutely delicious! very fresh served quickly and hot even during busy rush. Ambiance is cute, especially if you like Historically Preserved spaces. old wood, high ceiling..it used to be grist mill and it still has the gain elevator outside for you to see! Back to the food. The Sushi was awesome and the Pad Thai flavorful and authentic & The Beef Penang Curry so good we ordered double so one we could take home! oh yea, the staff is very hip, friendly and cute. I totally recommend!

Let me just say this was probably one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. They have a awesome menu and everything we ordered was executed better than we imagined. It’s such a relief to know that there’s good sushi in the area, and the cooked food is great too. The sea bass was amazing and the Kobe burger and fries kept my nephew happy(I stole a few fries and was a little jealous). I like the local character and the fact that it’s located in an old grain mill it gives it a certain type of atmosphere, although it is a little cozy so if you come in with a larger party I recommend making a reservation.

Lol I had to come back and change my review i gave it 3 stars but I was so pissed off on how the other food was the past couple times I was in there that it deserves 1 star . Service is great nice people the sushi should be the only thing that u get and thats still mid like if your craving sushi and u dont want to drive to middle town or dover its ok but the other food taste so generic it tastes like it came out of a box and its been frozen nothing fresh at all . And the roman bowl that really pissed me off 15$ im thinking is going to be nice roman . It legit looked liked they tolk the roman out of that 50c pack u get from the store put it in some chicken broth put a over cooked egg in it with a couple small pieces of what tasted like pork chops it didn’t taste like pork belly at all . The stuff in that bowl was probably worth 3 or 4 $ and raised it up to 15$ . Its basically over priced collage food run by collage students i went in there one time and some kid was taking orders with both headphones on. The sushi is ok the rest frozen generic over priced trash

I went to cafe Sado in Chestertown not too long ago with my girlfriend and her sister. We’ve never had an issue until now. When we had been seated, my girlfriend, her sister, and I, had all asked if our server if she could notify the kitchen about a peanut and tree nut allergy due to my girlfriend and her sister being highly allergic. Even after all three of us explaining, not once, but three times. Despite the explanation, the entree my girlfriend’s sister ordered came out with peanut sauce. We had asked another server(as we were unsure of what it was at the time) what the sauce was. And then had her take it away. When our other server had returned, we had explained the situation, and were met with halfhearted apologies, and understanding due to her and I quote her saying ‘I know I was in nursing school.’ And her stating she had misheard all three of us saying nut allergy and told the kitchen gluten allergy. Her attitude throughout the rest of the night was very unprofessional. We then called over someone else for the manager as we had hoped to be able to have this issue addressed. The other server had told us that her sister was the manager and was off site. She then stated that ‘she guesses she’s the manager because her sister is gone.’ Not sure if that’s how it works but we said okay, and asked her to call the manager. We were then told the best they could do to rectify the potentially hazardous situation is to comp the item with peanut sauce and give us 25% off the order. Needless to say we will not be returning, as the blatant disregard of a deadly allergy shook our faith in the restaurant, the kitchen, and the professionalism of the staff. I post this review not as an attack on the restaurant but as a warning to other patrons who may have allergens that could be deadly. My only hope for the restaurant is that for the sake of their customers are better prepared and more understanding.

The sushi here, like it’s counterpart on Kent Island is very delicious. Not to mention the buy one get on roll free deals are amazing. However, the decor at this location is much better than the one on Kent Island. The service was excellent and I would definitely come back. As for other reviews I can’t speak to how good their non-sushi food items except that the Miso Soup is good.
