Great food, slow service, but worth the stop
We were a group of five staying nearby and looking for a good local spot to get dinner before settling in. This place popped up with several great reviews, so we gave it a shot. The food definitely delivered!
We ordered the sampler (with double chicken tenders and potato skimmers), two orders of mozzarella sticks, and the mac & cheese with ribs. Everything came out hot and packed with flavor. We even got onion rings which we didn’t order but were happy to see. Total comfort food and worth the wait. I also had the Painkiller cocktail, which was strong but definitely hit the spot.
That said, service was slow across the board. It took a while just to get acknowledged, then more time to get drinks, even more for the food, and the bill took a while too. They were clearly busy, and our server Jen was friendly and attentive when she was with us, but the wait times added up.
The atmosphere felt very “homey” kind of like a small town hangout where everyone knows each other. As someone who rocks an afro, I definitely stood out, the place lacked diversity and that was noticeable. Still, we didn’t feel unwelcome, just very aware of it.
Overall, it’s a cozy, homey spot with great food. Just go in knowing it might be a slow-paced experience, especially on a busy night.

This place has gone down hill recently. Had the worst plate of nachos in my life today, huge chunks of chicken and veggies—nothing was diced or shredded as it should be on nachos. Cheese was already cold by the time they came out. $12 for a half order of nachos (picture included) which is a huge rip off for what I received. Burger was also burnt to a crisp. Something awful has changed in the kitchen here.

So this review is a summary of probably 6 times dining there. Food always good, waitstaff good. However on 3 visits the hostess’s just terrible. Not even same person there has been a couple . So I assume it is just excepted behavior. Always trying to send us to bar to eat. I don’t like to eat in bar. We wanted a table, there was seating for 16 people empty in middle of dining area. It was 7pm slow night too, she wouldn’t seat us at table unless there was 4 or more. So we were offer booth or bar. We ate in both. Nobody ever came in and sat at tables. No customer service or even concern. We won’t go again

Brother and sister-in-law brought me to eat for lunch. Quaint and quiet. Lots of good stuff on the menu. Wait staff is very pleasant professional and attentive. Really liked this out of the way place. I would definitely come back.

The place to stop if you’re hungry! Heading north or south, stop @ Knotty Pine. Quiet, good service and amazing food. He had beef stew, burger, and taters. I tried a bacon chicken ranch wrap with fries. Very pleased, and I highly recommend checking them out!

Split style Tavern with the dining area on one side and the bar with live music on the other side. First impressions, coming from someone that was just eating pizza in New Haven Connecticut last week at the world’s best pizza, I cannot express enough that the pizza here is delicious ! Dare I say that although there may have been too much cheese this place can definitely compete with New Haven style pizza and win! The crust was damn near perfect!
Aside from the snobby side of being a pizza lover . How could one describe a Tavern in the middle of no where that offers amazing food , great service and friendly staff ?
The live music, even in such a small area wasn’t too loud, and I could hold a conversion without struggling. Don’t be surprised if you pull in and the lot seems full, find a place to park and come in anyway! It’s worth it ! Photos were taken late .. We ate, we drank, all was awesome !

The food and atmosphere here is amazing, if you want a little live band and bar go on that side, if you want quite time to eat and have a nice quite conversation sit on that side. Hands down some of the nicest, happiest and eager to help hostess, and waitresses hand down around. The best Pizza you will find around too! Love this gem.

I can’t even stress enough how much I love this place from the service to the food. The staff was so friendly, and the food/serving size was incredible. I got the BBQ ribs and they came right off the the bone! The mashed potatoes and potato skins were cooked perfectly; I also need to rave about the Caesar salad, the dressing is so tasty.
