Debating between 2 and 3 stars. Rounding up to 3 because my two prior experiences were pretty good. Yesterday, I ordered a veggie chicken finger sub. Ate one half, no issues. Second half was different. Today, I started eating my sub and found a short, dark hair (my hair is light and long). No biggie. Kept eating and found mold. Definitely not okay.

The owner Kurt is super nice his son and daughter and son-in-law Alex, who looks like Travis Kelce lol are always amazing there. The food’s awesome and I just love the nostalgia of the place. Staying in Buffalo for a work trip. Had to try some local pizza. Pizza was good although slightly overcooked for my tastes. Girls who waited in me were pleasant enough. Overall a good experience.

While I’ve never actually dined in here, the pictures of their small dining room look nice. I’ve never had their pizza, as I have my own favorite spots for pizza. I order their subs, which are fantastic. Simply my favorite sub to order when I’m on the Blvd. Much better than the John’s on Grand Island. That one is terrible.

First time in a long time. Too long. Cup and char was great. Maybe :30 too long. Soft bite no tear which I really enjoy. Great taste sauce cheese. I very much enjoyed this pizza. Also treated us to 20 wings medium. Also very good. Crispy saucy. Large cheese pepperoni 20 wings $41 with a coupon. Definitely won’t be waiting so long to order again. Thank you

This was the most disgusting chicken finger sub I’ve ever had. The main problem was the overwhelming amount of mayo on it. The second picture shows the amount I scooped off with a spoon while trying to eat it. The roll was soaked and mushy, and the sub was falling apart as globs of mayo fell out of it. The first picture shows the second half that I just couldn’t eat, both sides of the roll loaded with mayo.
I called to explain and talked to a manager named Joe. When I was done describing the problem, all he said was, “Okay.” I asked if that was it and Joe proceeded to tell me that he was upset that I trash-talked his employee for making the sub poorly and that she was new, only on the job 2 days, and she doesn’t know how to make subs yet.
Why the **** is she making subs then, Joe?
Who the **** is training these people? How does anyone, this girl included, not know how much mayo is a reasonable amount of mayo? It was like a sub made by a person who never ate a sub or sandwich before in their life and thought, “Ah, this looks like a good amount of mayo,” as they scooped it on over and over.
Joe told me he had a bad day today and this was just making it worse and he didn’t even offer a refund until I asked for one. He was crazy standoffish and never sincerely apologized for the bad experience. I figure, he’s probably got a crush on the new girl and even though she makes subs worse than a chimpanzee could, he’s still going to try to use his manager flex to hook up with her. The dude was so butt-hurt on the phone call, something has to be up between him and her. He took it very personal.
So, the food was terrible, and the manager response, even worse. If you like the food here, make sure this girl doesn’t make your sub. If you have a complaint, be careful how you express it to Joe, he’s very sensitive.
If you’re thinking about trying John’s, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. You’re probably going to get food made by ignorant people who don’t know how to make good food or handle complaints.

Recently moved to the area. Ordered 2 times this week. Order was wrong. Hate mayo and so does my family. Today 2 out of 3 subs had mayo. Asked for sesame roll…got plain. Small pizza was just cheese..came half pepperoni..that was just today..first day was even worse. Dont like to complain but geez. Would i go back..eh probably not. And i heard so many great things about this place. Disappointed i guess in my experience.
Updated review. Decided after 2 years to give it another try. Wrong decision. Meat way over cooked. Ugh. Johns get your s##t together.
