Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Circa-1950 fast-food chain for counter-serve burgers, some stacked with multiple patties.

The service is always excellent, the food is always hot and tasty. Customizing our food is NEVER a problem. It is always clean, bathrooms too. They decorate for each season too! I love that. A recent visit proved what a great resturant they are. We were concerned we paid too much, so I inquired about it. I was given their full attention and I felt they were concerned as well. We were charged a bit more, but the operations manger came right out. She looked at the receipt and said they were unable to do a refund. I said ok, no big deal. (It was not enough to worry about). She then offered me an extra fries, shake or basically whatever she could do to make up for the extra charge. I was not expecting anything, like I said it was not a lot of money. She asked if I was sure, so I asked if they had an apple pie. It was brought out in a paper bag, which was great because I took it home and enjoyed it later in the evening. (Just a side note, it was great reheated.) I think I heard them helping the cashier see how to do it next time. Which was awesome too! We just moved to town and my fiance had never eaten at a Whataburger….I know, crazy! He’s been missing out! This Whataburger always goes above and beyond. Always a great experience!

Since these are $2 a pop, it would be really nice to get a full cup. I can’t tell if it’s y’all being cheap, or your staff is lazy. Gravy is really cheap and easy to make, so I’m really not sure why it’s so hard to fill the cup.

Best experience and managers I’ve met!! Janelle Richardson went ABOVE and BEYOND! We are in town visiting My husband went to go grab food for all of us and the kids and the order was completely incorrect and missing tons of food we ordered. I went to go have it fixed and didn’t realize it wasn’t even the same location and Janelle immediately took it into her own hands, she was so kind, understanding, respectful, she called that location and told them how they messed my order up which was store 1361 She completely fixed the order when she did not have to She was absolutely incredible while taking care of me was also taking care of other customers with nothing but professionalism and a smile on her face. She is an exceptional manager. I was very, very impressed and thankful for everything she did. It was a long day and she saved me the time, gas, and headache. Thank you so much for fixing this bad experience that you had nothing to do with and turn it into a good one!

The burgers and fries are acceptable, but I don’t get all the hype. It’s definitely not 5 Guys or In-N-Out. I ordered the burger as it comes, and it was a sloppy mess of salad. The staff seemed to be struggling to get food out, and it wasn’t very busy. Everyone was very nice though. The prices are okay. I may go back, but I’ll definitely order fewer condiments on the burger.

Food was good, much better than your standard fast food fare. Ordered some LTO drinks and they were easily the highlight of the meal, much better than I initially expected. Service was quick, prompt and polite. If your hankering for a hamburger, stop in here before going to McDonald’s, definitely worth the trip

Stopped on my way home and wasn’t disappointed. Went through the drive through and the service was fast and food was hot. Cashier was extremely helpful and suggested a new burger they have. Of course topped it off with a strawberry shake

It’s our first time coming to a Whataburger. The atmosphere was good, with lots of bright color. The staff was great. The two women who took and delivered our order were very kind. Our order arrived quickly. The food was just alright. The Nashville Hot chicken bites didn’t have that Nashville Hot flavor, but they were good. The fries were just ok. The burger was rather large, though. We noticed a lot of flies close to the drink station. Overall, it’s just slightly pricey average fast food.

The hamburgers were awesome! That is what I call a hamburger. The woman taking orders was friendly and had available condiment on the ready. Loved the fact we could sit and eat.

Maybe expectations were high, but the food was not good. Fries were good but my burger was nothing special and the bread was not soft. It felt and tasted stale. The chopped lettuce was from the core of the lettuce head (it was like I took a bite into a Brussel sprout). I hear people say it is so good, so maybe it was just the location.

What sad, sad little burgers we had. The buns lacked life, orders were wrong. Service was very slow, took almost an hour to get food. The onion rings were basically deep fried skin. The taste was “diner has leftovers that have been sitting all day”
Parking was easy. Ordering on a kiosk was easy. Everything was bleh and Meh
